Thumbs up

Brian Yuzna wants a lot of money for his films which is why Society, Nerconomicon and Faust havent made it yet. Im pretty sure more MGM films are coming but now it can be from Scream, Kino and Twilight Time.. It wouldnt surprise me at all to see Price films come from the different studios. Im hoping for some 50s titles for 2015..
Rawhead Rex would be a great surprise come to think of it

Hence, Firestarter and The People Under the Stairs being released by Universal themselves recently.
I guess if Scream doesn't announce The 'burbs next month then I'll get the Arrow version.

Kind of a double edge sword though if Universal doesn't license out anymore. Pro: don't have to worry about crappy masters from them. Con: lose out on quite a few titles deserving of being released or potentially improved upon.

I too would love to see Scream dig into some older films, but I get the impressions they haven't sold too well for them, other then the Price films of course. Mind you some of their choices have just been odd to say the least, Neanderthal Man being one. It's kind of like their TV collection, they based TV movies interest on the sales of two lesser titles.

I have a feeling like just mentioned, Kino and Twilight will go after the older horror titles, but it would be nice to see Scream release some of the bigger ones at least.

I'm really hoping they get Carpenter's Village of the Damned next year. Though I'm sure he's super busy, maybe Hamill would come in for an interview or commentary.

Would Arrow let Scream use their remastered version though? I know that a few Scream releases have had Arrow extras on them, but I'm not sure what the logistics/$ would be with actual transfers. Otherwise, Scream would be stuck with the apparently (but unsurprisingly!) lousy Universal transfer.

It might not be up to Arrow to make that decision. Even though they likely paid to have that master created, Universal probably has the right to use it as they see fit in other markets as they did with Scream Factory's HD-master of Deadly Blessing or as MGM did with the Scream Factory' color-corrected master of Lifeforce.

Hour of the Wolf, as an Ingmar Bergman / Max von Sydow collaboration, probably has Criterion written all over it.

I've actually been wondering that myself.

(They could always tell Universal "yes, we're using your transfer *wink**wink*" while actually using Arrows, if they could ).

But it is probably like zbinks says. Universal can do anything they want with that transfer Arrow created. Hopefully they would give it to Scream if they decided to license the title.

I just won a copy of The Battery through Dread Central! I keep hearing good things. This will be my first contemporary Scream Factory release.

Someone needs to contact Fangoria in regards to their release (and supposed remastering) of SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT last year and WTF happened with the Anchor Bay blu-ray release (and why they didn't release it on their own or in conjunction with Starz like how Monsters HD worked with Dark Skies to release MAGIC on blu-ray).

Except that Magic was Blue Underground. And SNDN was an Anchor Bay release not involving Scream Factory whatsoever...

Poltergeist II and III double feature is a good possibility for next year. Hopefully will extras.

Probably without... Craig T. Nelson doesn't talk about the films, and a good portion of the cast of The Other Side is, well... Maybe a Skeritt or Nancy Allen interview? Maybe the directors too?

I was thinking more along the lines of a making-of with behind the scenes footage and/or deleted scenes. I'm becoming less fond of talking head interviews with participants who seem to want to be somewhere else. Making-of docs are rare these days. It's the only extra I care for anymore.

Given the history of the film, I don't think any of that is possible for Poltergeist III.

Maybe a tribute to Heather O'Rourke? I can't really see any other extras being created for the film unless they can locate the original ending that may or may not have been filmed, depending on whom you ask, .
