Scream Factory Blu-ray Discussion Thread

Ordered They Live from eBay (one of the major retailers there) today - do people still receive that movie with slipcover or am I simply too late? Not a deal-breaker in any way, but would like for it to fit in with my other 8 Collectors Editions..

The Carrie Blu-ray of the TV movie and the sequel is basically pick your poison. I mean what, Manhunter's too good for them? It shouldn't be, it fits right in with the rest of the Scream Factory releases.

If you go to the website of the company releasing it, they list Island of Terror as being region-free. I've got it ordered along with Curse of the Crimson Altar which they also show as being region-free (I'll know soon on the latter as it's on its way to me).

I have little interest in them, but at least they haven't been released on Blu before (unlike Manhunter).

Manhunter needs a dignified Blu-Ray release though. Come on, where's the good stuff for the Manhunter Blu-Ray out there?

Just realized Bryan Fuller did the teleplay for Carrie (2002). It would be cool if Scream was able to get an interview with him.

I always check to ensure SF titles I get on eBay have slips either from the description or by contacting the seller. If they don't mention it in the description I wouldn't get your hopes up, but its still possible that it will come with one.

While we're on the topic of slips, has anyone ordered Prison from the Shocktober sale? If so, did it come with a slip? I know SF doesn't guarantee slips during sales

I wonder if it is possible to update the original thread for people buying the Scream Factory titles from Amazon.com for example with Slipcover updates.

For example:

The Burning: Last known slip received on 10/10/14
Received without slip on 10/14/14

This means people will know if they will get a slip or not.

Not really. I got Halloween II last year without a slip. One week later, someone got it with a slip. Both from Amazon.

Yeah, pointless to have that kind of thing in the OP. People consistently post they didn't get one on stuff other people get one on at the same time. Ex, the back to back posts in the Terror Train thread a couple weeks ago from me and some other guy

guys, why don't people understand this? It can change at anytime, the next day, the next hour. You cannot be 100% certain you'll get a slip! Here's an idea.... if it's so bloody important, why don't you pay the extra $5.00 or so when the title is first released?????????????????????

One of my Facebook friends dressed her two dachshunds in costumes, took them to this Dachshund Costume Halloween Meet-Up party at a local park earlier today, and then posted a bunch of pictures of dachshunds in a variety of costumes.

I sent her a link to the Scream Factory Blu-ray of Deadly Eyes and told her about how dachshunds were dressed as rats for the film. She replied a few minutes later that she had ordered the disc and that she was excited to see it.

I love spreading the good word.

How did Manhunter come up, is it something they have access to the rights for or something? I agree that the current bluray is severely lacking, especially considering there are multiple cuts of the film out there, but figured it was not even a remote possibility based on how popular Hannibal Lecter (I mean...Lecktor, as spelled in Manhunter!) stuff is, how high profile Michael Mann is, and the fact the studio has their crummy barebones edition out there in print.

Indeed.

You can also buy on Ebay or from an Amazon Reseller and ask them ahead of time if a slip is included. If it's that important to you, those are the methods to be sure you get one. There is no "Amazon slip report" of any kind that will do anyone any good.
