The packaging of Squirm looks great, with the slipcover art and the disc art. I'm really looking forward to revisiting this movie again for the first time in a few years. I saw this film repeatedly during childhood, and I even owned the old DVD edition.

Final Exam was a blind buy, but it comes from the early 1980s magic era of slasher films.
You now, you're really lucky to still be able to walk into a store and buy this stuff. Nothing beats the thrill of walking out of store with movies as opposed to waiting around for the mailman. Online shopping is made out to be this perfect thing but there's so much that can go wrong, like ordering from a retailer that only ships via DHL, which takes forever. Waiting in a line with an armload of movies used to be one of my favorite pastime

Yeah, it'd have to be a double feature. I don't know that I'd have the appetite to buy II and III seperately at Screams prices. Maybe II as I avoided the previous bare bones release, but certainly not III. They just aren't good enough to warrant separate releases like Psycho II and III. A double feature for $19.99, I could handle and certainly want at this point.

They could really sweeten the deal with a couple of in depth featurettes on the series as a whole though. This series has been devoid of really anything like that. Even the supposed 25th anniversary edition of the first one had literally zero features on the series.

If Scream could somehow put together a decent package of interviews with cast members (where they happen to talk about the series as a whole even though the first movie wouldn't be included), it would be a day 1 sort of thing for me.

...or accidentally using the wrong shipping address, and having no way to modify the order, and getting no response from the seller :\

The stores do have their perks

I hope the deal was with Universal, that may explain the transfer materials comment as well. Universal has so much gold to mine, Scream needs to make a deal with them to survive, as the recently announced double features (Mind you I enjoy several of them), and a few small deals here and there won't keep them a float. With Kino, Arrow, and Twilight all taking titles from MGM there just isn't too many quality titles left. With Warner supposably releasing some Hammer titles next year, I would love Scream to release a Hammer collection with what Universal has. Hell, I'd be happy of a re-release of this collection on Blu:

Hammer Horror Series, The - The Franchise Collection
- Brides of Dracula (1960)
- Curse of the Werewolf, The (1961)
- Phantom of the Opera, The (1962)
- Paranoiac (1963)
- Kiss of the Vampire (1963)
- Nightmare (1964)
- Night Creatures ( Captain Clegg ) (1962)
- Evil of Frankenstein, The (1964)

I doubt its any Hammer horror titles from Universal - they just re-released all their titles .. on DVD but that's major studio logic for you

They did say often requested. Something else to consider is Criterion did license some titles from Warner.. could Shout Factory have done the same ? Probably not likely but just throwing it out there.. Critters is often requested.. so is Bubba Ho Tep.. Rawhead Rex and the titles Zbinks mentioned... all are requested a lot...
If its an MGM deal maybe Bubba Ho Tep and Return of Count Yorga are the two titles - part of a new deal with MGM..

If its with Universal I could see them going after The Thing (despite all the times it was shot down) and Village of the Damned..

It sure is fun trying to figure this stuff out

As for Critters, WB is planning a new digital series for the franchise, so I expect them to release at least the first and second films on Blu.

Does digital series mean it's a computer animated series or is it live action distributed digitally?

Distributed digitally. It could be live action or CGI.

Maybe this is a result of plowing through top tier titles they had convenient access too or just coincidental nature of recent announcements rather than a shift of production focus.
i doubt theyre moving away from their collector edition format, i think theyre just getting out everything they can from mgm and looking for new deals...maybe theyve made enough to pry some stuff away from lionsgate (wishful thinking)

Wish they'd release some older tv movies. Would love to see A Cold Night's Death, Snow Beast (77), It Happened At Lakewood Manor, Curse of the Black Widow, etc..

You are in for a good time. I saw it for the first time a few months ago and totally fell in love with it. Hopefully you like it as much as I do.

Curse of the Black Widow would be a great title for Scream Factory to pick up.

A double bill of both Kolchak movies - Night Stalker & Night Strangler - would be great and I'm sure would be a popular release for Scream.
