There isnt a lot of titles left at MGM, or FOX, I dont understand why Shout is releasing some titles as double features that could sell very well on their own, they have better titles on the double features than the single realeases of Squirm! and Don Johnson and his dog!

Unless they are getting back with Universal, and that wont hold more than a year, so they really have to get other cows to milk, they will end up milking Millennuin Entertainment for some low end titles, but then what? Project over?

I wonder if one of the bigger titles could be Bubba Ho Tep. I overlooked that one..

And as far as Fox goes.. I would add the Omen IV to that list of horrors.. although no one seems to want that on blu ray...maybe its overlooked, but I like that film..

Personally, I think Squirm is a solid horror movie and easily better than anything they've announced for a double feature this October. It Works for me because of the elegant cinematography, the music, the likable cast, and the fact that worms are just plain gross.

That said, if the MGM catalogue is truly exhausted, which this year's October announcements seem to suggest, I hope they will work towards licesing from other companies.

During my lunch break today, I bought Squirm and Final Exam from Movie Stop.

The packaging of Squirm looks great, with the slipcover art and the disc art. I'm really looking forward to revisiting this movie again for the first time in a few years. I saw this film repeatedly during childhood, and I even owned the old DVD edition.

Final Exam was a blind buy, but it comes from the early 1980s magic era of slasher films.

The ones I'm interested in are Love at First Bite/Once Bitten and Ghoulies/Ghoulies II.

I may get Class of 1984 and I'm interested in Scarecrows/Destroyer, but I'll need to watch Destroyer first (thankfully I found in on youtube).

I was interested in Empire of the Ants, but if Jaws of Satan is as crap as some people say, I'll have to pass. It'd just turn into another Terrorvision/The Video Dead (and that's because of The Video Dead; that shite's unwatchable almost :P ).

@MGM: Poltergeist/Poltergeist II as a double feature. I'd buy that.

@Fox: If you're going to do The Fly II, why not do a collectors edition set of The Fly and The Fly II. I know The Fly has a perfectly fine $7.99 bin release at this point, but I'd double dip for a complete set.

Stigmata would be a good one. I enjoyed that movie.

Still waiting on the rest of the sleepaway camp movies!

One question.
Are you a meth addict or do you genuinely think that The Tripper or Perfect Creature have better odds at being Scream Factory titles than SHOCK TREATMENT?!

MGM doesn't have the first Poltergeist.

The Fly (1986) may be a situation where Fox won't licence for anything.

Sense is made. If it had features, I may be coaxed to buy Poltergeist III (as 2 is my favorite of the trilogy).

I know Scream has more Collector's Editions to announce but part of me wonders if they're not stepping away from the higher price point titles and de-emphasizing special features relative to before. Double features seem to retail for $19.99 as do many non-Collector's Editions (versus $29.99 Collector Editions). Maybe this is a result of plowing through top tier titles they had convenient access too or just coincidental nature of recent announcements rather than a shift of production focus.
