WB is one of the few big studios still outputting a lot of catalog material and making money off it, so I doubt they will license their stuff out for a long time yet.

Or they will license it out, allow limited quantities, double the number of units after seeing the high demand, and set a sale price of $80

Yes to Critters 1 & 2 on blu-ray. I could care less about the other movies in the series.

While I agree with you pretty much 100%, if Lionsgate could give us 7 Leprechaun films (including one that was brand new) in a nice looking package for $29.99, there is absolutely no reason that Warner couldn't do the same thing for Critters for 19.99. All the films already have nice looking HD masters (available digitally as I type this). Just slap those films on 2 disks with some nice cover art and slip box and I'd be happy. Hell all the Tremors came out together and I'd argue those are much worse.

Do you think SF may be working on figuring out who has the rights to Fright Night II?

No. They've addressed this several times over the past few years. They've looked into it, and weren't able to secure rights for any number of reasons. Considering no one can confirm where the rights are held, they're likely in the most obvious place and that's still with Lionsgate. There is an unofficial Blu Ray already available that looks fantastic, I suggest hunting that down.

A sad day for fans of 1980s horror...

Edward Herrmann (Death Valley, The Lost Boys) passed away today at the age of 71.

Would anyone else like to see a proper Kalifornia release with extras?

If Lionsgate does indeed hold the rights they would be smart to release it. It would be selling out like hot cakes.

This icon is your friend.

I'm looking forward to this if it is getting a blu ray release.

Empire of the Ants / Jaws of Satan

I saw it on their FB post but it didn't say what format. Mainly Empire of the Ants as that is a B favorite of mine. I would have liked it better if they paired it with Orca but hey at least Empire is finally coming.

It is absolutely insane that you can't even buy a proper DVD of this classic film, let alone a Blu. Disgraceful really, especially considering some of the crap that is widely available!

Just realized 2015 is the 20th anniversary of Carpenter's Village of the Damned. Hopefully Universal either licenses it out or releases it themselves (the more likely option it seems).

I've been going though a bunch of wonderful Shout/Scream Factory Blurays this week and honestly couldn't be happier. Here's what I checked out recently:

-Phantom of the Paradise + the 5 hours of extras
-Leviathan + hour of extras
-Lord of Illusions theatrical cut plus the 2 hours of extras
-The Final Terror + extras
-Southern Comfort + extras
-Cohen & Tate + extras

Also checked out:
-Wolf Creek 2 + hour of extras
-Scanners + 2 hours of extras

I want more. More! I have the majority of their releases and can't wait to pick up more. In horror movie mode, and it has forced me to make a couple of Arrow Video UK orders.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed Leviathan watching it again all these years later. I just watched The Fog tonight and watched most of the extras, I'm excited to grab a few more titles soon myself.

Curious to know where this info is coming from, as I'd been told to expect a brand new transfer. Granted things change, but the person who dropped said info to me would definitely be in the know.

Did SF ever say they may consider releasing Psycho IV if II and III sold well?
