Nice!
I'd be quite happy if it received a CE, to go with the first release.

Official announcement..

**SURPRISE TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT***

1985's HOWLING II will be coming out later on in the Summer of this year. We were not prepared to announce the title at this time but the cat (or, in this case, wolf) was let out of the bag from another source. We have no details at this time and we hope that fans of this cult classic are pleased to see this arrive on Blu-ray for the first time!

This would only be worth it if somehow Spoony's review gets in as a bonus feature with a few edits of course.

I guess that means Psycho IV isn't out of the realm of possibility, as Cliff had stated several times that he had 'no interest' in releasing Howling 2.

He'll say something but ultimately will scrape the bottom of the barrel.

If Psycho IV was with MGM sure.. but who can say if they make a deal with Universal, but the bets are he wont. Howling II was a highly requested and probably licensed now after SF released the titles they wanted and planned to. Now theyre going back and picking up titles they passed up. Im passing on Howling II.. just an awful movie.

Speaking of the bottom of the barrel, I wish Scream could put out Terror on Tour and Home Sweet Home from MGM. These are two lower tier slashers, but if Don't Go in the Woods...Alone can get a BD release, why not these two?

I almost want Howling II just for the cheesy memories, but I should try to avoid it.

Ditto!

I wish Scream would issue something that I want to buy. IMO, leave the dreck to Echo Bridge or Mill Creek.

I wonder if it'll be the first of many Reb Brown blu-ray releases from Shout/Scream.

Strike Commando, Robowar and Space Mutiny would be nice additions IMO.

Don't forget Cage with Lou Ferrigno.

That was what I was expecting when I watched it, but somehow a movie containing Christopher Lee in neon pink sunglasses and an extended werewolf threesome managed to be boring. I think the problem is it's trying to be funny and isn't, which kills the "so bad it's good" thing dead. When bad movies aren't even trying to be good and try and put on this air like "ha ha this movie is stupid, we're so ironic that we want you to laugh at it," they're no longer fun to watch. See: most Syfy channel movies. If the movie had been made in earnest I think it would have been surefire "so bad it's good" material, but as is it's quite a chore to watch.

I shouldn't talk, though, since I actually sorta enjoy Howling III. For some reason I actually laughed at some of its jokes, in contrast to II.

Alright, I'll be the first to say it: Let's have a box set of ALL of the Howling sequels. Now THAT would get my blood flowing . I don't hate the sequels but give me a complete set with lots of extras and each film as uncut as possible and I'll be very happy. Has to be definitive, though - nothing half-assed. Shout already has some of the films, maybe some kind of deal can be worked out for the others.

How many of those six slots are accounted for thus far? Because I for one love this film. I've been waiting for this one - the Troll 2 of werewolf films.

A boxset like that would have half assed written all over it because there's barely a market beyond 3 to sell the sequels too, let alone an investment of full bells and whistles.

The same goes for Amityville also, after 3, they're the kinds of sequels that'll never get love because they have such a niche following.
