I'm not "turning on" Scream either... it's just disappointing to see KINO announcing better titles than Scream.

As far as below average genre flicks like Howling 2 (atrocious actually) I would be much more excited to see B-grade fare from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. I'm much more likely to buy flicks from those eras and MGM has hundreds of them!

Sorry pal, but garbage is garbage, You don't have to be a fan of other equally bad (or worse) films to recognize that.

It depends on the person, certainly. For me an 80's cheese fest is ten times more interesting than a 50's classic, that's just my personal taste. Everyone is different.

In general though my point is if you're not excited about Scream's last set of announcement then just wait for more. I don't see a point in bashing the studio due to a few months of announcements you don't personally care about. The next handful could be amazing stuff you love.

I'm still happy with sleepaway camp 2 & 3 as this year's releases. Also need to pick up a few already existing ones (ginger snaps, final exam, candyman, final terror, lake placid). Class of 1984 was a nice addition as well.

Hard to be upset with any company releasing content that we wouldn't be able to get otherwise. There's also no problem with other companies doing it. As long as the content is good and being released by someone, I'm happy.

I love all these companies, and none of these companies will be able to stay on the top of the crest forever. And there's only so many films to go around and eventually the well will be dry. But let's enjoy the current tidal wave regardless of what title is coming from which company.

Im not disappointed, whoever releases the movies, releases them. Im not picky about the studio as long as its stuff that I want. Kino seems to have made a good killing so far ! Im all for it

I don't think expressing dissatisfaction over the release of a particular film could be viewed as "bashing" Scream Factory necessarily. Speaking for myself, I have been very disappointed with their recent slate of releases. My tastes run towards the Vincent Price and John Carpenter films that have been released. And I'm very disappointed with the slate of upcoming releases such as the Howling II, which I think is a step in the wrong direction. Kino seems to be stepping up to the plate and offering the the types of releases that are far more desirable then what Scream is offering as of late. This is an open forum, and if Scream Factory does peruse this forum, I'd like my comments as a customer to be known.

Just get the Canadian blu-ray. I just got it myself back in December for $15 (pretty much the same price as the DVD).

Region A, same as the US. Includes all of the extras from the Shout Factory DVD, plus one of Ivan Reitman's student films "Orientation" that isn't included on the US DVD.

Great little release, I just watched it a few nights ago. The stories that Reitman and Goldberg tell about getting the film funded and distributed are pretty wild. Glad I bypassed Shout's DVD and went for the blu-ray.

This happens every winter. We're stuck in the off-peak release season, where the scheduled releases tend to be much more divisive and the announcements are fewer and farther inbetween. This year's off-peak schedule really isn't substantially different than the past two off-peak seasons. Mad Max and Escape from New York would probably rank among the strongest off-peak titles they've announced to date. I really wouldn't worry about Scream Factory until we see what they have planned for July - November.

Hah, I didn't realize Howling II had been announced. Now we don't have to constantly hear complaining about Cliff badmouthing the movie anymore

**BREAKING: ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK Release News**
We have some “A-number one” updates to report today regarding our upcoming (and highly-anticipated) Collector’s Edition of John Carpenter’s legendary film ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK:
- Here’s an exclusive first look at the official newly-commissioned artwork which comes courtesy to us from artist Paul Shipper (Halloween: The Complete Collection). Snake is centrally focused of course, but we felt that it was important to showcase the incredible ensemble cast who are all vitally important to the film too. Purists can rejoice: The iconic original poster art with the beheaded Statue of Liberty will be on the reverse wrap and we wouldn’t dream of not including it!
- Extras (new & existing) are still in progress and will be announced in full details sometime in Feb. This is a 2-disc blu-ray set and will exceed the previous DVD special edition.
- Last and not least (and which will be good news to fans hoping this would happen): We have created a brand new 2K High Definition scan of the inter-positive, struck from the original negative.
- This is a Region A release. Street date is 4/21. You can pre-order the release directly from us @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/…/escap...collect…. Amazon and other fine online retailer pre-order links should be going up soon in the upcoming months. Note: If you do order from us on ours site, you’ll receive it two weeks earlier than the national street date and receive an 18” x 24” poster of the new art. Please keep in mind that the poster is only made in limited quantities.

I'm excited about the new transfer and have already preordered through them so I can get it two weeks early. However I really wish that Scream would stop thinking that they have to put floating heads of every single side character on the cover of the releases. They need to come up with something different for their new art work.

I dig the new artwork. Nice job on really capturing the essence of the movie and the 80s vibe, ala digits and neon lights.

Seeing the image by the above poster gets me wondering: What is taking so long for the Jaws sequels to come to blu-ray? I can't believe Cruel Jaws is getting released on blu-ray before Jaws 2.
