Lol, my directing teacher from film school is the villain in Streets. It's a fun movie.

I would love to see The Evil, Grotesque, The Outing and Cellar Dweller.

I would also welcome some of their Corman titles rereleased under the Scream Factory banner like Piranha, Humanoids from the Deep, Galaxy of Terror, etc.

Lots of people posting old Corman wishlist titles - has Shout indicated they might upgrade some of their earlier DVDs? I'd love to see that special edition of Timewalker that was scrapped. Also, The Evil and Twice Dead - two of my favorites. Loved Battletruck but that one seems less likely to be upgraded.

I'm in Ontario. From my experience it's hit or miss. I've ordered from criterion's 50% off sale twice. Once got charged duty, another time nothing. It can be a gamble! Only adds a few dollars more typically. 7 maybe? I forget.

Most do. If it is a "Collectors Edition" release it will have a slip. Regular releases and older "Collectors Editions" do not.

Older releases are difficult to get with slips unless purchased directly from Shout.

There we go with the slipcovers again. Scream should start selling these seperately since I'm sure they'd cash in. 25.00 for a blu without a slipcover and 35.00 if you want a useless slip with it.

I've never purchased from Scream Factory before and all I really want to know is if they always come packaged with a slip. If they don't, it's not a big deal. Is it a crime to be curious on this website?

So do you think Cat People and The Howling would still be packaged with one? How old do you define "older releases?"

Thanks for the info, by the way.

It's not a crime to be curious.

It's lazy not to bother reading even a small portion of a thread before you post.

Slipcover posts eat up about half of this thread. Every slipcover question is asked and answered every two days. Take a few minutes of your own time to skim through recent posts here and find your answer.

That's funny, I did that. Couldn't find a damn thing.

And if the questions constantly come up, why not put the information people keep looking for in the first post of the thread? That way people don't have to dig through pages and pages of posts, and the thread won't be spammed with the same questions over and over.

I couldn't find a thread for Prince of Darkness. I just watched the BD and man, it looks great. Very impressed by the picture on that disk. The movie itself is still a lot of fun!

Cat People, Darkman, Sleepaway Camp, Ginger Snaps, Motel Hell, Squirm, Dolls, Pumpkinhead, Lord of Illusions, Night of the Demons should all have slips if bought new as they do come wrapped now. Anything else varies really, I personally had luck on amazon with The Howling, The Burning, Assault On Precinct 13. But due to warehouses and stock it could vary. I do believe I read that someone recently got The Howling from Shout! directly and got a slip so that may be a good suggestion. We really should have a thread dedicated to most recent sightings for the slips and where they were gotten.

Hopefully this helps

I'm not sure if the answer is worth putting in the first post cause the answer is "it's anyone's guess!!!" for anything released for the first time before Sleepaway Camp or Ginger Snaps or whichever was the first with it sealed inside the wrap.

Cat People and Darkman definitely didn't have the slipcovers inside the plasticwrap when I bought them from Shout in October. Maybe they're reprinting them in the new style packaging or something, but even if they are I wouldn't expect all the old copies to be out of circulation so quickly given that they were still sending them out from Shout as little as three months ago.

I'd donate my slipcovers to the unlucky people who aren't getting them since I couldn't care less, but mine probably all have dinged up tops and bottoms. :P Out of the 20 or so Scream releases I have, the only one I've ever gotten that didn't have a slipcover and was supposed to was Halloween II...I've ordered from Amazon, Shout and DDD. There's just no pattern or guarantee.

The simple fact is no one can really answer the question anyway. With Amazon and the like it depends on which box from which warehouse they reach into, with Shout's own site it can be just as random. There is no guarantee from any site unless you buy day one, and you're better off not worrying about it anyway because it's cardboard.

I like the idea of a "Frequently Asked Questions" area for the original post where members who don't usually frequent said thread(s) can look up info, regardless of how mundane the information needed may appear to some folks - that way, members don't jump up and bite people in the rear end if they ask a question. There's a sizable segment of the collecting population that enjoy and cherish the slipcovers. Scream obviously thinks so or they wouldn't be bothering commissioning artwork and making them. I like them and have kept most of 'em and given some away but I'm not OCD about them. Still, I'd rather not dismiss them as "just cardboard" or people who collect them as wasting their time.

I agree, I'd want uniformity amongst them, plus then you also get new artwork and then old underneath. Someone in the Arrow was in complete disbelief at why I'd pay £20 for an out of print slipcase edition with poster and alternate artwork when there was a slipless 2 art reissue avaliable for 6, and still didn't understand when I said I was completing a collection and enjoyed the uniformity

That's a good idea for an FAQ, listing that only Collector's editions have them, which ones are collector's editions, and which have shrink wrap on them

I'd be fine with adding an FAQ thing to the original post, but the answer would be "no one can tell you whether it will come with one or not" because that's the only possible answer. Only way to be sure would be to order on ebay and ask the seller ahead of time.

Interesting. Shout/Scream will be releasing The Babadook on blu-ray on April 14.
