Nah, 10 is the latest free version; 14 is a pay-for-extra-features version. Instead, maybe try right clicking and doing a Go To Chapter 3 option, see if that works.

Yeah, I'll keep fiddling with it, just seems strange, hopefully it's not a problem with the disc.

From Scream Factory Facebook page:

"Happy Wednesday everyone! We are contemplating creating limited-edition steelbook packaging releases for a select few of some of our earlier titles. Nothing is set in stone but we wanted to hear your thoughts first! Thank you for all feedback in advance."

I like steelbooks but I won't double dip. Not worth it when I could use that money to buy new stuff.

I feel the same way. Also, I love Scream Factory's CE slipcovers.

I'm a big steelbook fan, but I'm not too keen on double dipping. Especially when so many of the CE have amazing artwork.

In other words, "We are running out of new titles to release so how about we re-release some older ones in steelbooks and charge you very nicely for buying the same movie again !".

Yeah, I'm not a rabid steelbook fan. In certain instances, I'll go for them - but I certainly wouldn't double-dip for something I already have unless I needed an upgrade from DVD to Blu. I would prefer Scream focus on acquiring new titles and doing a good job on them rather than reheating movies many of us have likely already purchased.

I'd prefer Scream get a handle on their encoding problem.

I'm sort of getting that vibe from it.

MGM is drying up and deals with other studios may or may not happen. It would help if they slowed down a little on a monthly basis:

April: 8 releases
May: 6 releases
June: 6 releases
July: 5-7 releases

Maybe switch to 3 or 4 releases a month and they could stretch it out a bit.

I'd be more interested in their newer releases getting a steelbook treatment but even still, for consistency I think the slipcovers work just fine. Not repurchasing their previous releases just for a steelbook. Going forward, maybe if the price is right. That's coming from a fan of the steelbook.

I far prefer standard Blu-Ray cases to the specialty packaging styles (steelbooks, digibooks, etc.), so this is a non-issue for me unless they decide to revise these releases in other, more meaningful ways.

Steelbooks are an awful idea.

It's bad enough that half of this thread is slipcover nonsense. We don't need people complaining about dented steelbooks.

I want news about movies. I don't want Scream wasting time with yet another packaging/art gimmick.

I see KINO is releasing House of the Long Shadows, guess that won't be in Volume 3 of the Vincent Price Collection

I actually prefer normal cases to steelbook cases. All the steels I own are because I was in a store and was too impulsive, thinking I was getting something limited. Dumb consumer brain.

I definately wouldn't double dip for a steelbook, theyre better off just sticking with theyre newly commissioned artwork slipcovers and posters. really looks like the wells drying up and theyre just trying to squeeze out more money from consumers. Could this be the Scream Factory death rattle?

As much as I like steelbooks I have to agree with the majority of opinions that it's not something that feels attractive at this point. For new titles maybe but it's too late to get into the specialty packaging game, especially at inflated prices.

They've already stated how expensive it would be for them to manufacture steelbooks, so just imagine the markup on these flicks that they've already released. I'm all set. Spend that money on acquisitions that aren't MGM dreck.

didn't mean for it to come off as dramatic, just making an observation.the "death rattle" comment was ment to be satirical in nature...i dont really seem alone in this line of thought though...
