I asked a reliable insider about Little Monsters and get this - its not with MGM anymore, Lionsgate has it.. this is what he told me. He has never been wrong about who has what.

United Artists bought it outright from Vestron when Vestron was going under, so I find that hard to believe.

Phantasm, Rawhead Rex, Hell Night, Psycho IV , to a lesser extent Fade To Black..
Some are from the good ol' Anchor Bay days.. Anyone remember a film called The Johnsons that AB released ? I wonder if anyone has that one
This is something I don't understand....Why shoot down Phantasm? When they went ahead and got Phantasm II from Universal.... With the eventual Halloween release proving they can work with Anchor Bay, a complete Phantasm boxset is very possible. It's one thing to say, Anchor Bay has the rights and we'll see...it's another to shoot it down outright. First rule of negotiating, don't under or overplay your interest in it. Nothing's impossible.... Nightbreed and the Halloween boxset have proved, anything can happen...

Anchor Bay's license for the remaining Phantasm films has expired. At this point it seems to be a matter of making a deal with Coscarelli, assuming one hasn't already been struck with him.

So do I but rights to titles do change hands. He does work in the industry and has told me a few things here and there..I wish I could share but Im trustworthy
Little Monsters with Lionsgate was kind of peculiar. It is a UA title. Who knows
If it was with MGM someone should have had it by now.

Lionsgate strikes again. They are sitting on so many old school horror titles including Fright Night Part 2. I wonder if anyone ever figured out who has the rights to Hell Night these days?

Not to mention the kinky fetish outfit. Can't go wrong there indeed - enjoyable on several levels.

Some titles are in what is referred to as *rights limbo* which could mean anything from uncertain to multiple persons claiming rights to a movie. Some films are owned by producers who want a lot for their film. I think Image picked up a lot of the old Anchor Bay titles to distribute , but it doesnt appear that Hell Night, Fade to Black or even the infamous *The Johnsons* were

Maybe I'm remembering it wrong but I thought I read Bill from Code Red saying he tried to obtain the rights but that the producer is waiting for a potential remake to tie into it.

Yes. I was a big PC gamer back in the 90s and a lot of games are caught in a rights limbo which prevents them from being re-released digitally today. I would guess the same thing happens with movies every once in a while, just more rarely. Fright Night 2 is one of those rare cases.

Everyone used to think Dawn of the Dead was still with Anchor Bay but the producer has it and wants too much money for it. That same problem exists for a couple of British horrors, Legend of the Werewolf and The Ghoul. Same with Brian Yuzna films.. but Arrow did get Bride of ReAnimator and Society.. maybe they will get Faust and Necronomicon at some point

Judging by the fact that he's turning down heaps of companies and wants to do a remake, I highly doubt Scream will get through to him.

You never know. Scream Factory probably has a little more disposable income to throw at him than some of the smaller cult labels. However, the money for a movie like Hell Night has to be within reason as well.

Mayb, but I feel like both Vinegar Syndrome and Synapse have more, and both of them tried for this movie and got turned away because of massive costs and him wanting to make a remake
