I don't use Facebook can someone ask SF whether they plan to release more Amityville sequels to blu ray when asking a question next time?

Also it's damn cheap from Amazon UK right now too.
Have it but its region B locked. Fixin to trade it cause have no way to watch it. If it was only A or multi region.

Maybe think about a multiregion player.

Not everyone wants to go multi-region locks for a variety of legitimate reasons. We shouldn't act like everyone needs to, or like region locked foreign editions make a local release irrelevant.

Have but right now my players just don't need replacing. Any dealers where I live don't carry multi region players. As much as I would like one can't justify it for a handful of films. Good idea just not practical for me right now.

I'm seriously on board with that! Reminds me, I'm also wanting 'Severed Ties', 'The Borrower' and 'Alien Space Avenger'...wish list goes on. ...I'll have to google to see who has the rights to these movies

I believe the original name is The Clown at Midnight.

Universal released it on DVD in the UK but the movie never had a DVD release in the US. Maybe Scream could work out something. It's been ages since I last saw it but I remember liking it.
Sonar Entertainment seems to be the rightsholder.

I'd be all over THE CLOWN AT MIDNIGHT.

I've actually been in the theater where it was filmed about a hundred times.

The movie was filmed in Winnipeg at the old Walker/Odeon/Burton Cummings theater. It has a very plain, unassuming exterior but it was a grand movie palace back in the day (and a live stage theater before that...100+ years ago).

I saw more movies there than I can list...everything from AIRPORT 79 to THE BLUES BROTHERS.

Exactly. What's released in other territories is irrelevant when it comes to getting a US release.

Do you have a Panasonic BD player? If so, you should already be able to play most Arrow/MoC/BFI/Studio Canal/Second Sight/etc releases via the 'top/pop-up menu' button. With a couple of exceptions, I haven't even had to use my actual region-free player for months now, and I watch at least a couple of UK discs every week.

For example, "The Car" being released in the UK shouldn't have an impact on the title getting a US release.

Some people act like if a title is released elsewhere first, a US release is a waste of time. It's not.

Exactly. Some people don't like to import. I'm one of them.

I've used amazon.UK and zavvi and maybe a few other U.K shops, but that's about it. Only a handful of orders and from them. Also I try to only consider confirmed region free titles and those without PAL or 50hz content.

Its not so much I have a problem with importing, I just don't want to deal with region codes - even if there is a "workaround". There's just plenty of domestic releases to keep me occupied, i have no reason to look further. Now if region free players became somewhat standard, and not grey-market, I would probably change my view and start getting locked titles. But still only in selected cases.

I have Arrow's THE CAR but depending on if Scream has it , and their presentation Id switch to a Region A release. Id rather do Region A but Ill do Region B for titles I want or are better presentations.

I think UK releases (or European releases in general) are a good indicator of possible future US releases. How many MGM films have Arrow and Shout released almost simultaneously? Several. Some came out first in the UK but many were debuted by Shout. We now know that Shout has another (possible) deal with Universal, so some overseas titles that may make an appearance soon through Shout may include The Car, The Serpent and the Rainbow, Bordello of Blood, Demon Knight, even The Money Pit. In fact, I'd say there's a very good chance ALL of these will show up in the US soon. The Sentinel had a recent German release and now it's coming to our shores. So if anyone wants an idea of what to expect I suggest scouring the international boards for clues

Ok gotcha. I'm UK based, so have to import to get hold of my favourite movies which are mostly during 80s/90s. Scream, Kino keep me importing and even region all catalogue titles are forgotten about in the UK. It's mostly cheaper or the same to import off amazon for these.

Since dvd days it's just not worth sticking to locked it's so restrictive.

Serial mom is out is europe, the UK for sure and is around £5 usually. My guess on Amazon to import to US and the disc will cost under $15. But it's an option if you want it.
