According to this site Universal released The Shadow in June 2013 and Scream in February 2014. Is that not correct?

Never could get into PEOPLE, or really Craven for that matter. I'm guessing this will be extras heavy to justify the fact that it was only released a few months back? I can't imagine it looking very different.

Edit: dsman71, I like the way you think.
I have not seen Carpenter's version in probably 20 years... I think I liked it for the most part, but I've always been a bigger fan of the original version - it's such a classic black and white horror/sci-fi movie. I personally would prefer a Blu-ray release of it.

Have the Arrow release. Will double dip though. The movie is really good and I love the artwork.

That actually is - Universal actually released it first during that Universal deal. After the deal, Universal went ahead and released the Shadow even though SF had licensed it.

"Our “Summer of Fear Part 2” line-up continues to increase with our plans to release Wes Craven’s fascinating and weird (in the best way possible) cult favorite THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS in an all-new Collector’s Edition release!"

I'd like to couch my comments in a polite and respectful way.

Unfortunately, the only thing I can say about this announcement is that it is just plain stupid.

Don't get me wrong. I love Scream. I've got ten of their discs on order. One disc is "Out for Delivery" on the UPS truck as I type this.

But PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS? That's idiotic. I realize that the U.S. is getting very lax about the enforcement of marijuana laws but somebody needs to tell the folks at Scream that they are smoking way too much.

Oh come on, Universal couldn't stand to part with the 'Jaws' sequels?? I don't see Universal rushing to put those on blu, and they seem right up Scream Factory's wonderfully cult alleyway!

I'm not saying we should hope for a full 3-D conversion of Jaws 3-D, but maybe an interview with Dennis Quaid for 3 and Mario Van Peebles & Lance Guest for 4.

Oh, Kuffs. I invented a drinking game where a friend of mine and I got a full bottle of vodka and took a drink everytime Christian Slater broke the fourth wall and spoke to the audience. The level of shot depended on how long he spoke to the audience with a single shot for a line or look/smirk to the audience vs. a full on long swig for a monologue. Needless to say, we killed the bottle, and probably a good chunk of our liver.

I prefer the original as well (along with Children of the Damned), but I have a soft spot for the remake too. I presume that the originals are tied up with Warner though and as of late, well, we know how often they release new back catalog titles.

Out of volumes 1 and 2 I've only seen witch finder general (I thought it was really good but was told it's nothing like the other movies in the collection). So of the 2 volumes which do you consider better?
I can recommend both volumes equally, as each volume contains some of Price's best films.

No Escape = YES, PLEASE! Easily Stuart Wilson's finest hour (and one of the best villain deaths i have EVER seen)

Tales From The Hood = Fine as is, but get some great features

Brotherhood Of The Wolf = Director's Cut + Theatrical Cut with all the features plus some nice new ones (maybe a new interview with Dacascos?) would make this the ultimate edition of Le Pact Des Loups
