Everybody wants Prince of Darkness. Personally, I listed in on my prediction list but I don't realistically expect it to be announced tonight - maybe it'll come out down the road. I will recant my listing of ROLLING THUNDER, even though there are horrific elements, it's still an action/revenge film and will likely show up under an as-yet-unannounced action line along with I COME IN PEACE (and hopefully other MGM/Cannon exploitation titles).

I would love to see I Come In Peace....amongst numerous others, but that and I swear Night of the Comet would make me a happy Talyn for all time...well, and the rest of the Phantasm series ofcourse....

Second Sight are bringing The Brood & The Scanners Trilogy out in the new year, Maybe SF split the costs like Arrow and BU did a while back!!

It has been said time and time again that its not gonna happen, so how is it most likely????? At best it could be listed as a "Wish List" title!!!!!

Its Universal, not Mgm.

If they had it, why not announce it WHEN THEY MADE THE UNIVERSAL DEAL!!
They announced "Phantasm II" and its far behind the others, so even if it was gonna come out months after their 1st wave, why did they announce "Phantasm II"

Yes, they said "we don't have it" to H2/H3, but that's because they hadn't even made an official announcement about any of their releases yet.

They said NO to "Shocker", "Village of the Damned", and other Universal titles - so is "Prince of Darkness" MORE valuable than EVERY other Universal Title?? I don't think so...
come on pal calm down, its just like-minded people talkin about films

It was shot down, since AB still has the rights.

I'm hoping that Scream/Shout! Factory will put out the various genre films MGM-HD has been playing in HD. When you have most of the work already done for you (and all you really have to do is dig around for extras, artwork for the cover and the usual rights to publish), then why not go for what's ready to go?

THE BURNING
LIFEFORCE
SQUIRM
REMO WILLIAMS: THE ADVENTURE BEGINS
THEATER OF BLOOD

The PHIBES movies
TALES FROM THE CRYPT (1972)
DERANGED
MOTEL HELL
BLOOD ON SATAN'S CLAW
FOOD OF THE GODS
SWAMP THING

have all had some good play over the past 5 or so years in HD, and we're not talking upconverted DVD prints. I have these on my DVR and they all look fantastic.

Default My Predictions

Okay so Ill give my thoughts on the six titles. I have lots oh hopes but I want to be surprized bigtime on at least two titles. Im thinking a Universal title or two could happen. I would like a title or two that has been straight up shot down. These are big titles that might not all be bigger budget well polished pictures. I think honestly THE FOG is one for obvious reasons. THE HOWLING is a great possibility that can be a truely epic bluray. Im thinking/hoping for PRINCE OF DARKNESS as a hail mary from Universal. I would love me a ultimate collectors edition of SCANNERS that would be a dream come true. A classic like NIGHT OF THE COMET would be sweet goodness. And my last title is one I dont remember being mentioned. THE DARK HALF with some possible Stephen King and George A Romero involvement could be a title that nobody expects and turn into a big set. I prey for at least half these titles. I would mess myself if it goes to like SUSPIRIA, THE BURNING, PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE and on and on. I ultimately just cant wait to find out what they are. And ill be sad knowing no more annoucements will be coming for awhile.

Lifeforce would be great, especially both cuts (unlikely, I know but this is probably the first and last chance these movies have to ever get thorough, deluxe type releases)

Lifeforce is getting a release next month in Italy under the 'Space Vampires' title. Hoping for 6 titles that haven't already got international releases.

This is the NORTH AMERICAN thread, and you're having a region free or internationally playable system doesn't mean that everyone releasedoes!!

What's that got to do with anything, I'm in the UK and I had to buy a region A player just to play the likes of Shout/Scream Factory releases because I am a fan of Cinema....

If you want the Movies just buy a Multi-Region Player, Hardly expensive now!!!

I'm just hoping for a loaded edition of The Fog and I'll be happy.

Love this company, the Shout branch bringing Joshua Tree to Blu in February was one of those I never thought I'd see but always wanted. Looking forward to hearing the super six!

Love The Fog, Would be great to see it get the proper treatment. The UK release is clearly an upscale.

The Burning is my number one pick, Long overdue on BD.....

Scream Factory was the last straw for me, and because of that, I broke down and bought a region free player.

If you are a fan of Cinema you really must consider 'multi-region' capability, There are so many great titles out there regardless of where you are from.

At least 50% of my collection are imports, Just a shame that we have regional coding, It's lame but business is business.

That's right! I totally forgot about that convention this weekend. Sorry I'm not the biggest horror buff, but thanks to this thread I'm learning a helluva lot!!
