Last week we reported the planned Collector’s Edition would land in August. It will now land either at the end of the year (or possibly early 2016). We’ll keep you posted with any updates as soon as we can confirm.

We apologize again for the move but the additional time will allow us to make sure we have bases covered when it comes to creating the extras. Thank you for understanding.

The prices for the Universal titles are higher than normal. Wonder if Universal is charging them more for licensing than they did before?

Oh, hard choice, my pick would be empire of the ants and frogs but they are separate discs.

Some sharp covers for the legacy and the sentinel. If these are the kinds of movies scream will be releasing on while they are scraping the bottom of the barrel (as many claim) then I'm going to be a happy customer.

Update - Scream has shot down these titles from their FB page
The Thing (still cant pry it from Universal it seems)
Demon Seed (Warner)
Maximum Overdrive (rights issues)
Return of the Living Dead (doesnt this have a good blu ray release ? )
The Stuff - Image
The Blob remake (with Twilight Time; I cant believe someone would request this title)

This is why I don't like facebook - a bunch of clueless people making random requests

Second Sight's ROTLD BD is perfect in every sense. The only thing missing is the workprint cut, which features mostly scene extensions. I have a bootleg disc of it but I'd really love an official release.

The German NSM Records release for The Sentinel is pretty ugly looking judging by the screencaps at http://caps-a-holic.com. I think the existing master could look quite a bit better with less extreme contrast settings. Hopefully those issues aren't baked into the master. A new HD-master would be ideal.

I might be reading too much into things, but I noticed that in the post listing their pre-orders for August, while The People Under the Stairs, The Legacy and Nomads had just 'extras to be announced in...', The Sentinel had 'full specs and extras to be announced'. Suggests there may be something worthwhile to announce other than extras perhaps?

Also, will we hear the final specs and extras for Dog Soldiers this week?

The bottom of the barrel claims came before the universal announcements. They were in reference to the mgm catalog and are quite valid. I don't believe anyone has made these claims since it was revealed a new agreement with Universal was reached.

They just announced via Twitter that The Toolbox Murders 2 is joining the summer of fear lineup in August. https://www.shoutfactory.com/film/fi...lbox-murders-2

Or SF is putting more work/effort into these releases or at least one can hope.

Would be great to get if we could. But if we were fortunate enough to, we'd set out to make it special of course.

That wording seems ever so slightly open-ended. There's probably nothing to read into here, but that doesn't read like a typical Scream Factory shoot-down.

Kinda getting the feeling Psycho 4 isn't getting a release. I wonder how many movies they acquired from Universal.

I'd rather Universal re-release The Thing, honestly. It really deserves a better looking transfer and I don't trust Shout to give us that. Universal ain't great either but they've been better recently.

Many were predicting that scream factory was yesterday's news because of the announcements they made. People were acting like scream was a dying label because they ran through the MGM catalog.

What did everyone say when the folks were complaining about the bottom of the barrel? There would be new deals and other avenues. That's exactly what happened.
