I recommend watching The Babadook. It's a new take in the horror genre, in my opinion
That's one way to look at it. The other is that the dad was a
[Show spoiler]black magician who had the whole thing set up to possess his sons body after death.
the cool thing was that it was left open to the interpretations of the viewers and both answers to what was happeneing in the movie works.

The Editor is coming on September 8, and that makes a total of four contemporary titles for September.

Yeah pretty much! I thought the kid was scarier than the monster!

I don't think we watched the same movie...

Babadook was OK but nowhere near as praise-worthy as people were making it out to be. I blind-bought a copy since I always get swept up by hype but after this I'm going to be tightening my belt when it comes to blind buying overhyped films. It was the same with It Follows. I was sitting there thinking "what's so special about this?". BTW, when did horror films become all about metaphors? I'll take my horror straight-up, thank you very much

The Warner Brothers logo on the poster probably should have been a clue.

Yeah, but historically if Warner released it to theaters, Warner released it on home video. They don't license their film library.

The Editor looks like it could be decent, as it's from the Astron-6 guys. Wish they went with this poster, though, for the cover art.

I put it in spoiler tags, cause it's a little raunchy:

Pretty interested in The Editor. A shame its not a CE. It seems like one of those that could really benefit from a nice slip of some kind. Don't care for the cover myself.

Backcountry was good and I'm curious about The Editor.

The Harvest is shockingly inept, unfortunately. I did not expect something so woeful from Samantha Morton, Michael Shannon & John McNaughton.

Yeah, I felt the same about It Follows. Actually I liked The Babadook more than It Follows. If The Babadook hadn't
[Show spoiler]literalized its monster and kept it psychological
I would've been more impressed.

So I just asked Scream Factory on Facebook if they have any more "older" titles planned for September and this was their reply...

Scream Factory: Sept ended up being light for us in that department with several films having to move out of the month unexpectedly for various reasons. We assure you though that our Oct-Dec line-up will make up for it!

***UPDATE on THE EDITOR!***

The pre-order link for Astron 6's THE EDITOR - the slick homage to 70s/80s Italian thrillers that we raved about and announced last month - is now up @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/film/fi...edy/the-editor

Official Street date is 9/8. Artwork you here is final and is reversible. Speaking off reversible, if you order through us directly, we'll include a limited edition 18" x 24" poster free that will showcase the art on both sides--which is a first for us!

Extras will be announced sometime in July and a new trailer is being created as we speak. Stay tuned for more updates.
