In Aliens, however, there's an early scene where we watch a bunch of these creatures effortlessly blown to bits by pulse rifles. This early scene, while effective in its own right, is irritating in the way that it all but negates the terrifying immensity and mystique of the one creature in the first film.
Well, to be fair, the aliens were being blown away by highly trained marines in the sequel. The crew in the original was made up of regular stiffs for the most part.

Pointed out by Richard Alvarado on the FB "Horror Bluray Maniacs" group, the SF button collection for this year's Comic-Con includes Tales from the Crypt and Army of Darkness and straight up says all 5 are for "future releases".

In before the storm of controversy this release is destined to cause if it's a new transfer.

Is that for Demon Knight or Bordello of Blood? Or both?

As much as I love to support these small studios, there are just some films that I can't bring myself to pay $20+ on. If titles suddenly start going the way of these tiny studios, my ability to afford and own said titles goes down as well... especially if they become limited to 1000 copies and sell out before release.
I can understand your point, however, to be fair, I do see the Kino titles priced at a brick and mortar store in the range of $17 - $19, which I think is a fair price, but of course, it's relative to what one is willing to pay, considering these are essentially catalog titles. The main problem I have with Scream is the paucity of good titles, and their transfers. It's not enough to provide a good set of bonus features in order to get me to buy one of their titles. I'm one of those folks who has a problem with the infamous compression issues on so many of their discs. I'd rather buy a bare bones release with a good transfer then a title with good bonus features but a mediocre transfer.

Holy sh*t, yes! Army of Darkness is one of my favourite films, and Tales from the Crypt (I'm sure they got both films) are also a lot of fun. A great set of releases to get any horror fan excited!

I bet Scream are pissed, as I'm sure these two/ three titles are their big comic con announcements. Hopefully they also have the Phantasm series to end the day on an even bigger note!

Probably both.

Good news about Army Of Darkness, but if the director's cut isn't included, I probably won't bother.

I give it till tomorrow morning before Scream announces Army and Demon Knight, like how they announced Lord of Illusions early because of Clive Barker's leak.

I can't see them not releasing the DC of AoD. I can see Bordello of Blood being saved for CC though.

That would be even better. Hasn't Warner licensed TV shows to Shout before?

I think so, back in the day. Dream On was Shout wasn't it? I don't remember. Scream have released Hemlock Grove though, so they're up for doing TV. You never know!

Hoping for a new transfer and the different cuts for Army of Darkness, maybe a 2-3 disc boxset. The Shadow was a new transfer correct? I was trying to think of Universal titles that got new transfers and couldn't come up with anything other than that.

Excited for Demon Knight as well.

These buttons are being given away at Comic-Con so I doubt the titles on them would be the titles they announce there, at least I hope not.

Half of me hopes it's the show, but then my wallet cries. 7 seasons, on Blu-ray, from Shout, is going to cost a FORTUNE. And I just don't have that $$$ and don't know when I will. I'm thinking around $200, maybe more.

They have announced the TFTC movies.

***NEW SURPRISE TITLE ANNOUNCEMENTS!***

You asked for them...and we got em! Both TALES FROM THE CRYPT films DEMON KNIGHT (1995) and BORDELLO OF BLOOD (1996) will be coming out on 10/20 as separate "Collector Edition" Blu-rays. We have no additional information at this time except that newly-commissioned artwork will be revealed next month and that extras will be announced in Late Summer.

The cat (crypt keeper?) was let out of the bag (coffin?) earlier today over a leak on the internet that caught us by surprise and hence the out-of-the-blue announce today. Originally, we had planned to reveal these two highly-requested titles sometime next week.

Tales from the Crypt movies and AoD are coming in October, meaning that they were not among the 10 (or more) titles planned for Comic Con. They're still keeping some surprises up their sleeves.
