Unless someone makes a 4-hour documentary about Evil Dead like Crystal Lake Memories, extras for the original Evil Dead have pretty much already been DONE, ad nauseum.
This x 1000! I'm tired of people complaining when perfectly good extras are ported over to blu-ray. It's like - the supplements they made are already really good! There's no more information to be had here, just be happy that they bothered to spend the time and money creating them in the first place. I mean, there will be a disc that has multiple commentaries, a comprehensive interviews section, trailers, etc and all we hear are people whining. "No new extras? Lame!"

Seriously? You probably know more about the making of these movies than the filmmakers at this point.

What the hell more do you want? At a certain point all ground has been covered and there's simply nothing left to add to the conversation.

And heaven help up if their Amazon order didn't come with a slipcover.

And lastly, "Get off my lawn!"

When asked about The Fly II, the Fox insider over at HTF responded:

potential for this to be released by one of our partners - new to BD
Scream would very much fit the bill. Certainly a strong possibility if they strike another deal with Fox

Could be Twilight Time as well, they have a good bit of Fox stuff. Would definitely prefer Shout though for that one though, I don't want to pay $35 for it. Hell I don't to pay $20 for it.

What about MUTANTS, the 2009 French version. I loved it. Anyone know who owns the rights or if Scream has even mentioned it.

I did ask about this, only TT and Criterion have deals with Fox at the moment. Of course this can always change

Well we know it ain't Criterion

TT for Fly 2 would be a bummer, that movie ain't worth $35. Maybe Fox will make a new deal with Arrow or Scream Factory.

I have that version, but it would be nice if they re-released it for those that missed out on the limited edition, as the regular version is pretty much barebones. That collection was also missing a few featurettes from the DVDs, so I would be down with someone re-releasing the film as an ultimate edition, and including everything in one package, preferably on two Blu-rays.

It is Cronenberg and he's had several of his films get the CC treatment, so that would be pretty cool if they hooked it up for The Fly.

For The Fly, sure. But Fly 2 isn't Cronenberg.

Correct, its Chris Walas. Id be amazed if it Criterion went for it, but Id lean toward TT..but if Kino or Shout are in the mix for making deals with Fox I can see one of them releasing it
If Criterion did it, Id think it would be a double feature two disc set with the Cronenberg one.

Kino has to be getting to the end of that 120 (or so) deal, so I have been curious what the next move is. That Studio Classics line seems wonderfully endless (though I'll admit the May-September releases have been more of a big deal for me than the October-December so far).

Yeah, I menat for the first one. Unless they do a combo deal then KINO seems the best choice for that.

Who said Kino was done making deals with MGM ? Im sure they are working on a new deal. MGM still has lots of titles (not just horror and scifi)

Does Criterion even do double features? Fox might actually release it themselves. I mean the two movies are money makers for them. Or I would hope so.

Does Criterion still have The Brood?? Wish anyone would release it.

They did Sanjuro/Yojimbo although each was also released seperately.

A Criterion Fly/Fly II release would be beyond awesome. But admittedly it seems like a long shot - feels more like a Scream Factory release. I really don't want to drop $35 on Fly II as much as I like the film.

That's not really a "double feature", it's actually just the individual releases put together in a slip-box, and you're essentially paying individual prices for both of them (though i believe they knocked $10 off the combined price of the box).

Not sure about "double features", but Criterion has been known to include additional entire films as "extras". Such as The Killing/Killer's Kiss. Big City/The Coward. Stagecoach/Bucking Bronco... and I'm sure there are others.

I guess the upcoming The Killers is a true double feature since it includes 2 films featured equally on the front cover yet the price of the set is the same as their normal single releases.
