Over at HTF the Fox insider said the Fly II potentially would have a blu ray release from one of their partners or something like that. I dont recall Criterion double features but theyve done box sets before. They could do a set that would include the Fly, The Fly II WITH the Brood (which they still have the last I heard) for quite the blu ray set.
I admit thats a long shot , and nothing more than a *its boring today, so here is a theory*

Not sure about "double features", but Criterion has been known to include additional entire films as "extras". Such as The Killing/Killer's Kiss. Big City/The Coward. Stagecoach/Bucking Bronco... and I'm sure there are others.

I guess the upcoming The Killers is a true double feature since it includes 2 films featured equally on the front cover yet the price of the set is the same as their normal single releases.
The Monte Hellman western disc is a true double feature, even having two spine numbers. The same for an Errol Morris disc that was released earlier this year.

There is no way in hell Criterion would do Fly 2, even if they did The Fly, which they won't do because the existing BD is already stacked. There is no need for a re-release of The Fly until UBD, if UBD survives.

Fly 2 is a perfect Scream Factory movie if they can make a new Fox deal. Otherwise I would guess it will be Twilight Time, which stinks, but oh well.

I know that, but sometimes its going to just imagine some possible scenarios even if its unlikely. TT has over at least 100 titles to announce still from all the studios, whether or not they have the Fly II I do not know.
Now the Fly could get re-released, especially from Scream Factory if they did a deal with Fox. Think about this - Escape from NY, Mad Max already had bluray releases but Shout released them again. It makes me wonder if Shout would try for Robocop or The Terminator lol (not likely)

I grant you Mad Max, it had a fine BD already (a better BD actually) and Scream barely added anything to it. It's weird they released that, IMO. They probably did it to tie in with the new movie, even though they couldn't do much with it. Escape From NY was bare-bones on BD, so that made sense for them to do.

The Fox release of The Fly is stacked and looks excellent, there is seriously nothing Scream could do to it. Also it's usually <$10 so everyone interested and their mother probably owns a copy already. There's no Fly 3 coming out in theaters, so I can't see it even being discussed by them. Sorry to throw cold water on your dreams.

I disagree, they have done random sequels in the past, Halloween II, Halloween III, Phantasm II, Carrie 2, Psycho II and Psycho III plus the upcoming Evil Dead 3. I think there is a good chance. And they do have a good relationship with Fox/MGM home entertainment.

The water missed me by the way since the Fly II has a potential blu ray release from one of Fox's partners according to James Finn from Fox In all honesty I cant see Scream doing the Fly either but I wouldnt close the door completely. I have the Fox blu ray of it and its a great release. Im sure one day the Fly II and maybe even the Omen IV will get blu ray releases

Scream stated on the last killerpov podcast that they need titles like mad max and efny because they are money makers and they help to fund the more niche stuff. (Howling II was specifically mentioned). In order to gather new acquisitions Scream Factory sometimes has to release a few mainstream guranteed sellers in order to finance the smaller films or the oddball project like Nightbreed last year.

I was talking about The Fly, not the Fly 2. I think Fly 2 is perfect for Scream.

I am glad Scream got Army Of Darkness. I hope they get Sam to help them on it.

The first two films Blu-Rays are great to me but the only way another release of ED2 might be is if they were to some how find the deleted scenes. Like the one where Ed gets back up and you can see a tiny brain within cobwebs and the pieces moving on the floor but that would be a great big longshot.

In the case that The 'burbs gets announced at SDCC, I would just like to say RIP Rick Ducommun. He was a talented and really funny guy. His loss will be remembered. Lots of great folks dying lately. Bummer.

SF claims that Universal want to release it themselves.

Presumably with the same subpar transfer that Arrow rejected.
