Price titles would be an exception. Would gladly welcome those for October.

I had thought that's highly unlikely but I figured I'd share: What if Scream would pair Destroyer and Psycho IV since Anthony Perkins is in both? I say unlikely since Universal is protective of their Psycho films and probably wouldn't allow it to be paired with something from another company.

I prefer your idea though.

They also have the theatrical rights for Over Your Dead Body and Bloodsucking Bastards (I think).

@ dsman71 - I'm shocked that they have not released The Brood yet. I mean if they do have it.

Some people seem reasonably sure it will come in October, but who knows. Criterion definitely have it.

People have been reasonably sure it would come for almost 3 years now. At this point I'll believe it when I see it.

Great suggestion for Terror on Tour, I'd love to see that on a double feature. I'd also be up for Home, Sweet Home or my personal want The Prey. I'd love to see The Prey paired with The Destroyer.

If the Home Sweet Home you're refering to is the one starring Jake Steinfeld (Body by Jake) I second that. Great low budget cheesy slasher! So much fun to watch Jake play a homocidal maniac. Would love to see Terror on Tour released as well, great suggestions!

It took EIGHT years for Criterion to release Odd Man Out - some titles take a great deal of time to restore. That being said I think the Brood and Mulholland Drive may well be October releases. They will probably include a classic horror, I hope

I think you've mentioned that to me before (the 8 years bit) so at this point I expect the worst, but it doesn't make the wait any easier knowing they have it. I certainly hope you're right about this being the year though. What kind of Classic horror are you thinking? When I hear Classic Horror I think Universal Monsters classic horror, or 1980's Freddy, Jason, Michael etc (The stuff I personally grew up with) which only leaves a 40 year gap or so in between. Have you heard specific titles or decades, or is it just a hunch?

Its just a hunch, the past couple of years we have gotten The Innocents , the Uninvited , I Married A Witch so I kind of feel like they will release another classic horror title. Maybe an upgrade to Carnival of Souls, Sisters, Onibaba, or Fiend Without A Face. Maybe an oldie from the Universal library such as Murders in the Zoo or Night Monster
My theory (lol) would be if the Brood is not announced next month then that means Criterion is still working on it. Same for Mulholland Drive, which is not a horror film but the clue in their newsletter means its coming. I wouldnt put anything past Criterion at this point
October could be really interesting !

Vice Squad would be awesome. However, I'm pretty sure it's one of the Embassy titles that StudioCanal owns, meaning Lionsgate has the video rights in the US.

Meaning that we will never see a Vice Squad Blu-Ray in the US.

Target

This may be a highly YMMV situation, but for those who are interested, I found The Funhouse for $10.26, along with Stage Fright (1987 - Blue Underground) for $12.16 in the Seekonk, MA Target. Both were labeled as an "Online Item".

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=263676

I hope someone else has some luck in finding these. Thanks.

Sisters seems doubtful at this point. It would just put two De Palmas too close together. I want it, but it just doesn't look to be there.

A bit of an update from Scream Factory ...

But its why we're delaying them that is the silver-lining. We're not at liberty to discuss details yet but if all goes as planned, we'll share the good news on both sometime next month. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Place your bets now - whats Shout got up their sleeves

PER FACEBOOK :
If you're heading to San Diego Comic Con in a couple of weeks, stop by our booth and say "Hi!"...and pick up some free SDCC exclusive Scream Factory buttons too (while supplies last). Artwork on this year's buttons tout The Sentinel, The Legacy, Shocker, Army of Darkness and Tales from the Crypt.
We also have a panel scheduled for Friday, July 10th @ 7:30PM PST where Scream Factory Senior Marketing Director Jeff Nelson will announce another upcoming TEN TITLES that are planned for the rest of 2015 and into 2016. Any guesses?
Check out more details on our blog for what's on sale early too and other Con-related activities.

The real question is how many of the ten are contemporary/IFC films. Hopefully none, but probably 2 or 3. One of them will likely be Human Centipede 3.

Four contemporary
Four other single releases (CE or otherwise)
One larger boxset-ish release

My guesses.

I dont see IFC titles happening here, maybe HC III but I think its going to be some catalog titles from MGM or Universal .... maybe a major title like The Thing may actually happen. They always have a big title or *name* title to announce such as EFNY or Mad Max. Even though I have not seen the sequels Ive always felt the Species movies would be a great fit for the brand.
We'll see.. always fun as usual

I would classify this as somewhat of a hint although it's not much to go on.
