Halloween and Nightbreed were special situations. Army of Darkness is with Universal , and since they have a deal with them, Shout was able to license it.
Your wishlist comprises of titles mainly held by Warner, Image, Arrow, none of them are likely. They dont sublicense. Dead Alive is with Peter Jackson and his films are supposed to get blurays at some point. Rawhead Rex has rights issues.

I will say The Thing is possible with Carrie and The Fly being really long shots. SF could get the Fly II if they make a new deal with Fox. I think Criterion will wind up releasing Carrie because they will spend the money to remaster it.

AWOL is Universal too, right?

I don't think spending the money to remaster it was an issue for Shout! Factory.

Criterion supposedly hinted Carrie a while back on their Facebook page (though sometimes, this means little). And since they have a relationship with De Palma (the DVD of Sisters and the Blu-rays of Dressed to Kill and Blow Out), it could be in the cards for 2016.

I was excited to discover today that Re-Animator has an amazing UK edition. I plan to import it next "allowance day" and I'm pretty pumped.

Arrow have a good De Palma relationship as well, and Carrie is more their thing than Criterion's. Either way we win though.

P.S. Why anyone is wishing for The Fly is beyond me, the Fox BD is really, really great.

The German edition is even better. Region free too. They released Bride Of Re-Animator as well.

Not a lot of people like, or care for the remake since it's very different from the source material. I consider it a plus since I'm not a fan of watching the same movie again with different actors. It was made during the "sex thrillers" era of the 90's, I remember a few unnecessary sex scenes here and there (plotwise anyway).

It's not great but I still like it. It's my favorite Matt Dillon role and there's some great death scenes. Also many references to Hitchcock, especially Vertigo.

Im not, Im waiting for the Fly II , some of the die hard Scream Fans want everything released from them including titles already on blu ray that have great editions

There must be a reason why MGM didnt give Shout the materials for Carrie. If Criterion or Arrow does release it , Im sure Cliff will not be pleased..

I interpret that as MGM wants to do the scan themselves (because of their paranoia over the materials) but they want someone else to flip the bill.

It was recently released here in Australia as well and is sourced from the same master as the German and UK discs:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...4&postcount=31

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Re-An...lu-ray/125018/

the encode is different and the scratches are present like they are on the German discs. The version in the links above is the 2 disc JB exclusive edition (there is a photo of the cover in the first link) limited to 1000 copies, it includes both the unrated and integral cuts, the cover art is reversible with different artwork on the other side with no ratings logo. There is also a standard single disc version with just the unrated cut disc:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Re-An...lu-ray/124715/

The cover art of the standard version is the same image on the reverse side of the limited edition, except it has the ratings logo. Both of these versions are region B locked.

Last edited by Cevolution; 06-28-2015 at 03:08 PM. Reason: Removed the photo, as I thought the one in the link to the Australian thread is slightly better.

I see a handful of MGM Blu titles have recently gone OOP, and sometimes that means Scream or someone else has an upcoming release:

Return of the Living Dead
Misery
Child's Play
Teen Wolf
Hannibal
Dark Blue
House Where Evil Dwells (DVD combo)

I could definitely see titles like Misery, ROTLD, and Child's Play being mentioned at Comicon.

I could see every one of those as potential announcements. Given that I own all of them already in there current incarnations, I'd be less than excited for these, but they would fit within the line nicely. Return of the Living Dead 1-3 Box set would be amazing, but with Lionsgate sitting on part 3 (and two?) that's highly unlikely.

I would like to see ROTLD. I know I said it before but I still would like to see it converted to 3D as it could have been when Tobe Hooper was involved. 2D to 3D on my TV looks good but a conversion would make it look better.

ROTLD 2 is WB and the DVD is still at the WBshop. I can't believe after all of the editions of the first by MGM that WB hasn't done a thing for a ROTLD 2 Blu-Ray or even real special edition as the DVD features I believe are from the LD.

The House Where Evil Dwells would be an awesome addition to the Scream line-up. Always loved it and it's quite the fun flick.

Scream said they weren't interested in Return of the Living Dead before, but hey, they also said that about Howling 2. It has an amazing UK release.
