Suppose it's The cost of doing business with Universal this go round?

Guessing the October titles will include (and I'm just guessing here): Army of Darkness, Demon Knight, Bordello of Blood, and The Return of Count Yorga.

I'd add Human Centipede III to that list and then say that's probable pretty close to final.

That was my guess when The Sentinel and The Legacy went up. They were the first to have higher prices than the other non-Universal titles.

Though, The Return of Count Yorga has a similar list price to those but is the normal $19.97.

Well no matter how much they cost, that money goes back into licensing more and more titles. By this time on Friday we will be discussing the 10 titles.. im pretty stoked. Even the movies that I havent seen before that I think are coming Im looking forward to hopefully they get announced

Well I rewatched Jaws 2 last night. Not as good as I remember it. I wouldn't even consider it close to Spielberg's original. The first 2/3 are quite boring, I was questioning what I liked about it and thought of tossing my DVD. Only in the last 40 minutes does it pick up and get exciting and somewhat suspenseful. A truly unnecessary sequel, the writing and directing are bland, it's lacking in good ideas, plot, suspense, and editing. It's watchable thanks to the return of Roy Scheider and John Williams, and provides some quality shark action. It's merely ok.

Won't be joining in the summer of fear sale this year. Doesn't make sense with the current value of the Canadian dollar. Won't really save much (if anything). I'll just stick to good old reliable Amazon.

Definitely, but that higher MSRP is going to make people more picky about what they buy. The CEs that are now $18-$19 on Amazon are now going to be $21-$22. Yeah, it's only a few dollars, but there's a psychological difference seeing a price in the teens and a price in the twenties.

It won't stop me from picking up what I want though.

Yeah, a few bucks makes no difference to me. And if I see something I want in stock before another vendor I go for it.

Heres a question - Death Becomes Her - Mainstream - yes or no ?

I was thinking about titles that would be considered mainstream besides The Thing, and in case they didnt get that one

Yes, it's mainstream, and I've seen it requested quite a bit.

As BDs get more niche the prices are going to go up. Not surprised to see $35 MSRP. Someday it will be $40 the same as Criterion and Arrow. Eventually they might all go above that.

I'd love it if Shout would start including booklets to offset that cost a bit for us. Love a good booklet, and it makes Criterions/Arrows feel more worth the cost.

That's what I always do. I used to have that 'I need it now' mentality but I just put movies that aren't a limited release on my wish list and buy them when the price really drops. I don't get the love for those mini posters some of SF's films come with. For me it's 27x40 or nothing at all.

Yeah, it really is a shame. I'm still hoping that something that i want pops up during the upcoming weeks just so i can preorder Army of Darkness and Demon Knight with it for the free shipping and posters.

I honestly prefer mini-posters to full size. Only so much wall space available and they can look good once framed. Some posters deserve the full size treatment though, especially if you have a light box and the posters are double sided.
