What if Scream Factory gets the rights to use clips from the Jaws movies, so they can do the planned release of Cruel Jaws?

Halloween III was one instance of SF reps denying a title they have; Night of the Demons is another... possibly other examples exist...

Any horror title that comes from Universal or MGM is not only possible, it's likely.

If Universal eventually releases the Jaws sequels, I hope they maintain the original artwork. The DVD artwork for Jaws 2-4 is terrible, I never understood why they kept the original artwork for Jaws 1 but changed it for 2-4.

We must be in a pretty sorry state when page after page is dominated by Jaws Sequels talk instead of Wishlists the week of comic con. Here, someone pick apart my list so we can move on from this rut we seem to be stuck in.

1. The Poughkeepsie Tapes
2. Pontypool
3. Rec
4. Rec 2
5. Martyrs
6. Irreversible
7. The Taking of Deborah Logan
8. Grave Encounters
9. Grave Encounters 2
10. Absentia

ok... but I must confess I'm not familiar with many of those titles...

I've seen Pontypool and would welcome a release.

I've heard great things about REC and would like to see that one as well...

I'm uncertain if any of these would even be considered. Most are in foriegn languages and I'm up in the air if the rights are even available. Every one of these is also from the last 10 years (well almost ) and completely goes against the standard bread & butter for Scream Factory. Ultimately I think this will be the direction of the company eventually, but for now it's at least a list of titles completely different from the norm.

(I don't expect any of these to be announced BTW).

Easy. All are out of the question. They said '70s to mid '90s. But I like where your head is at with this Jaws thing.

They said high profile horror comedies, they probably have an indie deal snuck in there, they said something for everyone. Considering this is Comic Con, and the backlash from two years ago, they will almost all certainly be "high profile" (meaning a high-profile director, a highly requested title, or a sequel to a high profile title). Last year, the high profile directors were Stuart Gordon, George Romero, Tobe Hooper, George Miller, and John Carpenter.

This year's high profile directors (I feel) will be Peter Jackson, Robert Zemeckis, John Carpenter,

01. The Car
02. Dead Alive
03. Death Becomes Her
04. The Fly II
05. Ghost Story
06. Nightmares
07. Psycho IV
08. Shock Treatment
09. Sssssss
10. Village of the Damned

5- Carrie CE
6- Impulse
7- Child's Play 2 CE

I'd be very happy with that selection. That said, I desperately want Lost Highway to be a Criterion release.

Agreed. The Jaws sequels are some of the only horror movies I've never wanted or thought about owning.

My wish list is:

1)The Pit (1981)
2)Mausoleum (1983)
3)Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II (1987)

IF WE CAN GET THESE 3 I WILL BE HAPPY BUT MY OTHER WISHES:

3)Mutator: Time of the Beast (1989)
4)Grotesque (1988)
5)Prophecy (1979)
6)Rawhead Rex (1986)
7)Slugs (1988)
8)Stepfather II (1989)
9)The Galaxy Invader (1985)
10) The Slayer 1982

I think Child's Play 2 and Child's Play 3 are inevitable, but I don't think this is the year for them. I'm also curious to see what happen's when the new film comes out. I could see Universal keeping them to capitalize on the new buzz. Child's Play 2 is by far my favorite of the series though, so it'd be nice to have the tv cut and some nice behind the scenes features.

They might have got all three from Jackson - Dead Alive, Bad Taste, and Meet The Feebles.

Speaking of horror comedies, I wouldn't rule out The Burbs. Yeah, they denied it before, but they also denied Demon Knight a matter of days before announcing it.

I'm with you, but why would they shoot the whole Jackson wad at CC, when you can sprinkle it around? I mean, we know Jackson would want to be a major source of input and make sure significant time was spent on each film, as he should be/do. I imagine Dead Alive is the most rabidly wanted one. I don't know about you but I found Bad Taste to be boring as sin. The makeup was the best part of the picture. Still have to check out Feebles.

And I'm with you on The 'burbs, but I knew somebody would jump on me if I mentioned it. I badly want it, as its one of my favorite movies and my DVD is scratched to hell.
