...and that set has now been out for almost a year. Nothing has been confirmed, but since Universal has more or less made most of the money that they're going to make from said set, it stands to reason that they'll likely have little problem licensing out the films. In this manner they get money for releasing their own set and money from a licensing agreement.

Wouldn't those titles be freebie titles due to the IFC midnight deal? In the podcast a little while back didn't they state they'd be releasing all the IFC Midnight titles?

EDIT: I'm probably wrong now that I think about it. Especially considering The Pact II was just released and it was by Scream. So I retract my previous statement.

I remember them saying that too. Maybe The Pact II will be the last IFC Midnight release from anyone but SF.

Okay glad I wasn't the only one who remembered that. That's probably what it is with The Pact II. It seems that movie has been in the process of being released for a while now as well.

48 hours to go! (Well, probably closer to 49 since they'll wait until the end of their panel to announce them).

Somewhat. I was a bit surprised about the three film set.

Will other movie studios announce their home video releases at Comic Con? Maybe if Scream Factory doesn't announce Psycho 4 and the Jaws sequels for blu-ray then Universal will lol.

That Arrow Hellraiser set is so sexy. Shame not everyone can get it. I really think everyone who regularly posts in this thread would fall in love with Arrow if they went region-free.

Maybe Warner might officially announce the Iron Giant... and Shout Factory, not Scream may announce some titles. They keep talking about Godzilla movies, which have to be the Classic Media films. They could announce the next MST3K volume which probably has War of the Colossal Beast on the set

I am glad that Colossal Beast is upcoming, but dismayed that Colossal Man is owned by someone else who apparently refuses to work with them and thus it's basically an impossibility. Those two, Pod People and Attack of the Eye Creatures were three of my favorite episodes back in the day when I used to watch it on Comedy Central on Saturday mornings

I'm a casual MST3k fan, but Pod People is one of the funniest episodes of any series ever.

Yeah, I keep hoping they'll re-release it on DVD since it's been out of print since about 2004 and I missed it. At least it's on Netflix (EDIT: rrr...it was? I guess now it must be on Shout's streaming thing)! I get a huge kick out of Frank Conniff quoting riffs from that movie on Twitter the last couple weeks in connection to Donald Trump's latest bungles (ex Trumpy! You can do STUPID things!!!).

I have the region free Arrow releases of The Funhouse and Vamp, that was before they started locking everything.

It's a shame that Arrow US just can't seem to get the same caliber of titles that Arrow UK gets.

Luckily, Colossal Beast was licensed because Lionsgate lost the rights to the AIP titles they had on DVD over a decade ago. Some were MST3K episodes others were not. Colossal Man is with Susan Hart, so yes, it royally bites.
I really hope Shout does more than the MST volumes with the titles and actually does some blu ray releases with them. Titles include The She Creature, Day the World Ended, Colossal Beast, Earth vs the Spider, Daddy-O, Teenage Caveman, Viking Woman and the Sea Serpent.

That's where my problem is. If I go region free, it'll take serious time and money to ditch all these KLSC, Scream and TT releases (taking a significant financial loss) in favor of clearly superior in every way editions. That's not even diving into the Criterion replacements where calls would need to be made as to which are better.

So by choice I'm remaining A-exclusive but when they release region free discs, like Kiju Yoshida (God I'm so excited for this!) or Nightmare City, I'm all over them without fail. I'm already so far down the rabbit hole, might as well keep going.

Yeah I over looked that set. After seeing that it did come as a surprise. Kinda gives me hope that they will re-release The Pact.

At the risk of derailing the thread, I must ask: what's the big deal about Iron Giant? Is it some kind of holy grail or something? People seem to be making a big fuss over it. Just curious
