They also have a deal with Fox. Terror Train is the only horror movie to come of it, though. (Visiting Hours and Bad Dreams didn't get blu-ray releases, sadly...)

Shout won't be making a deal with Sony or Warner (or Paramount, in regards to horror), so that pretty much leaves Lionsgate. I'm not sure if LG is willing to give up its horror catalog--but we can dream, right?

Expect nothing and when an announcement is made, let it be reason to rejoice.
I agree that in regards to SF coming releases they have given us ample titles to satiate even some of the most hardcore horror fans.

Dream lists, high hopes and getting ahead of ones self have grown this thread to some 3500+ posts.

I, for one, like seeing others dream lists because sometimes I see titles I've completely forgotten about.

Honestly, if Natasha Henstridge wasn't in this movie, I probably wouldn't be a fan. She just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
Yeah she looked great in the movie. I really like the cast. Jason Statham, Clea DuVall and Pam Grier yes please. The movie is, I think, the closest John Carpenter has gotten to making a western. If I was loaded I would just say here's some $, go make a western like you wanted many years ago. You deserve it for all the movies you've made for us fans.

He did co-write two made-for-TV Westerns, Blood River and El Diablo. According to Tommy Lee Wallace, El Diablo was originally slated to be a $20 million feature film, set to follow The Fog.

What I meant to say is- with something already out in HD, I don't expect much improvement.
I say this because you don't do new scans.
Either way I'll buy everything you guys do- always have and will.
You can still get a great looking master from telecine. Not every studio transfer is a 2K or 4K scan.

Great news that Shout have access to some of the MGM library. Naturally, I will be hoping that the movie from my avatar which is under MGM will get released by them.

They seem to be focusing on movies from the late 70s, 80s and early 90s.

No kidding. I have already begun to remove several DVDs off my permanent shelves in anticipation of the new Blu-rays, however far off they may be
I was more than happy to remove the less-than-stellar FOG import Blu and am debating whether to get rid of my BURNING DVD now or just leave it there for now. What to do, what to do...

I wouldn't get rid of them yet, as the DVD extras may not be ported over (and, in fact, Cliff has said that they won't be, not counting a commentary track here and there). My solution in these cases has been to put the DVD in a double-case with the Scream BD - the latter doesn't take up any additional space, and I've freed up the corresponding space in my DVD shelves.

Oh no, I'm not getting rid of them altogether, NoirFan, just taking them off the shelves. I'll store the DVDs somewhere until the day comes when the specs are announced and we can be sure. But, hey, even if they don't port over old extras, it's the film in high-def I'm really looking forward to

Oops, I should have said "closest to directing a western."

There was some blurb from a horror con last year about him working on some sort of gothic western. But I haven't heard anything since and see nothing listed on IMDB about it.

That list on FB would seem to confirm a Charles B. Pierce double bill, for April hopefully.

As far as "The Fog" goes, I really would like to see, at the very least, the commentary with John Carpenter and Debra Hill from the dvd be ported over.

I'll be satisfied with whatever they decide to give us, but Debra is gone and I desperately would like that to survive the jump to BD.

I can't wait to hear what titles Cliff told Frightener22 (Mike) about! I'm hoping and praying they are at least "Motel Hell" and "Prom Night II"! Those are 2 Mgm titles I hope they picked up!
