It's people in this forum and fans who support the companies, so if we're not happy with certain releases then we will say so. After all, how are companies supposed to gage what people like or are not happy with, if no one speaks out. We're the ones that are helping keep Scream in business and there announcements have been disappointing later and they need to know that, so hopefully they can do better in the future.

Companies need the feedback of the fans....Good and Bad.

Troll/Troll2 the only one of interest for me there, and Living in Oblivion... Shout have not been as exciting as Arrow UK in recent years...
And very bummed out about the Godzilla announcement... what a lot of hype over a free stream of some movies for 24 hours... geez...

"The Garbage Pail Kids" is such an unbelievably shit movie. It's mind-blowing that a piece of horse dung like that would get a BD release while so many classic films have yet to receive HD treatment. You couldn't pay me to pick up a copy of that piece of shit. Just my opinion, though it may fall into the 'so bad, it's good' category for some. I just saw it as flat out bad, didn't get much unintentional comedy from it.

Great news about "Living in Oblivion" and "The Guardian". "Living In Oblivion" is absolutely awesome, just a hilarious satire. Day one pickup for me. And "The Guardian" is an overlooked gem from the great William Friedkin.

Yep, or even Zemeckis. I would guess Death Becomes Her is not a CE because they couldn't afford to get any real extras for it and there are no old ones to port over. That's what it comes down to.

I'll be happy with the movie looking good in widescreen finally. Hopefully they do it right.

Very happy about Nightmares, The Guardian, Ghost Story and Blood and Lace. Would have been down for Return of the Living Dead and The Car had they not already received very strong releases in the UK. Not interested in the rest. So it's mixed for me. To be honest, I preferred last year's overall. If Scream do have the 4 Vincent Price films, Dunwich Horror, and the two Curse films, as Mister Lime's clues have lead us to speculate, I would have liked some of those announced. But at least we (probably) know they're coming. But is that it for the current Universal deal I wonder? I'm really, really surprised Village of the Damned wasn't among the announcements. Perhaps they still have 'lesser' stuff like Ssssss lined up but that seemed as big a certainty as The Car for me.

I have a terrible feeling that Women's Prison Massacre will be the film paired with Destroyer. I really hope it's not the case, but WPM will never be released as a single, and both share a prison setting (at least in part). Unless Hellhole makes a miraculous return from oblivion, as that would make an ideal partner for WPM.

Anyone able to pick me up a set of the 2015 Comic Cons pins/badges?
I've got the 2013 & 2014 ones, so I'd like to keep the collection going.

Oh Yeah, Nightmares on Blu-ray! I suspect They wouldn't do Return of the Living Dead if It wasn't worth it, so I'll likely grab it, as well as Death Becomes Her, and blind buy Ghost Story as I have never seen it. The original Troll is really pretty classic 80s b stuff. its not the kinda movie I'll watch with the wife, but I can see myself having a lazy day and transporting back the 80s with it. Garbage Pale kids is some horrific twisted extension of Howard the Duck and I wont be getting it. I haven't seen the Guardian since its initial release on vhs, but I don't think it left an impression...I'll have to look further into the others.

Yeah, I'm disappointed. If they use the master used on the German Blu, I won't even buy it.

For me the comic-con announcements were solid. Not spectacular. Not disappointing. Just a solid list. I will be buying 7 out of 10 of the announcements. I'm most excited for Blood and Lace, Nightmares, Troll, The Car, and Ghost Story. Garbage Pail Kids has always been an oddity buy for me. Is it good? Not at all. But, there is a strange enough vibe that permeates the film, that will get me to buy it.

Only films that I'm not buying are Women's Prison Massacre, Death Becomes Her (I hate these bigger Hollywood Dark Comedies), and Return of the Living Dead (Have the Second Sight release with the original soundtrack).

We just revealed the following upcoming Scream Factory blu-ray releases at our Comic Con panel this evening. Here's the exciting line-up:
1. WOMEN’S PRISON MASSACRE (1983) - First women-in-prison film in the Scream Factory roster. Bonus points for being Italian-made.
2. BLOOD AND LACE (1971) – First time ever on a home entertainment format!
3. TROLL (1986) – Which will be paired with Troll 2 as a double feature.
4. GHOST STORY (1981)
5. THE GUARDIAN (1990) – From the Director of The Exorcist!
6. THE CAR (1977)
7. NIGHTMARES (1983)
8. DEATH BECOMES HER(1992)
9. GARBAGE PAIL KIDS: THE MOVIE (Collector’s Edition) (1987) – Not horror of course, but “gross” enough!
10. THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD (Collector’s Edition) (1985) - !!!
We have no details to report on this time other than that Death Becomes Her, Blood and Lace and Troll are slated for November 2015 street dates. The rest will roll-out in the months to follow with ROTLD likely releasing in Summer / Fall of 2016.
I can't complain much about the list because none of them are contemporary titles, and only one of them have had a previous Blu-ray release in the US.

I want Death Becomes Her but only if it's a new transfer. The R2 is god awful.... Nearly as bad as the DVD. The only difference is it's widescreen.....
So if they use that transfer be prepared to riot. It's nearly as bad as Dog Soldiers. The rest of the movies are blah.....

Want The Car so glad that Scream has picked it up. Wonder if it will have the same features as the Arrow release?

You mean this German (region B) release? I don't own it but it looks like it's region free though.

Yeah, I'm sure that's what he was talking about. The transfer is supposedly terrible.

I to own the German release. The image quality was pretty bad showing signs or noise reduction, and evidence of unnatural grain..and distracting noise. The first 9 minutes of Madeline's stage show at the beginning and the audience footage looks horrendous., though this isn't the first title Universal has put out with problems...I've see a lot worse.

Ghost Story was major bomb and disappointment at the time of its theatrical release. Much was expected from this movie due to it source material - a best seller - and its cast.
The production was plague and major edits and alterations were done to change the film from what was originally intended.
It would be nice if a restoration and special edition was done - and going by what I've read and heard from those at Universal at the time of the film's release it would probably take a double BD to not only present the film, but it's bonus material as well.
None of this is so jar mentioned in the announcement - especially if it's a Special Edition.
It's a classy old school film that had state of the art make-up effect of the day, much of which was never used.
Hopefully, a healthy budget on this release might give the film a new life as was done with NIGHTBREED.
The film isn't bad, just disappointing and a but dull - then again - it was never release as it was intended.

Definite:
Nightmares
Ghost Story
Women's Prison Massacre
The Guardian
Blood and Lace
Troll

Pass:
Death Becomes Her
The Car (though for the record I would be buying this if I didn't have the Arrow release)

Maybe:
Return of the Living Dead (unsure if I want to upgrade my DVD,
though a lot can happen in a year)
Garbage Pail Kids (unsure if I want to do that to myself)

DESTROYER update. We are unfortunately having trouble getting the elements on this one for a variety of unforeseen reasons (otherwise we wouldn't have announced it back when we did ) We had it planned for Fall but it's likely moving to 2016.
