That's a real shame, I am very much looking forward to that one. Hopefully they can get something sorted and we don't have a repeat of the Hellhole situation.

I'm sure they are aware of the music/audio issues present in the other US releases because otherwise there isn't a reason to release this again.

The only reason to pick this up would be the inclusion of the workprint. Seeing as SF didn't release the workprint of Phantasm II there isn't much hope for one for ROTLD. Other than that I can't think of a single extra that would entice me to buy this again. Anything you could possibly want to know about the film is covered in the feature-length doc on the SS disc.

Nothing for me either. I haven't honestly cared about Scream Factory since they put out the double feature of "Tales From The Crypt" and "Vault Of Horror."

Return of the Living Dead is the only one that interests me in these 10. I haven't seen a lot of them though and usually that means I won't be a fan.

Whats something good exactly to you ? I understand we all have different tastes, and its possible what you want are with labels that dont sublicense their films.. which bites for a lot of us

I'm surprised by all of the whining because I feel like Troll, Death Becomes Her, Nightmares, and Ghost Story were 4 of the most requested titles over the last year.

As for RotLD, at least one double dip was a certainty. Not sure why people are still shocked at this point.

Im never surprised at whining, it happens all the time...even when its a highly requested title. There must be some kind of psychology to it that some of us arent getting lol

It's pretty simple, the UK version is definitive and works on US players. Most people don't want Scream to waste their time when great releases already exist.

It will be their best selling title out of this group. $$$ = they aren't going to see it as a waste of time

I more meant our time. Waste time and energy that could go into another release. Though in the end if it sells well (for some reason) it finances other releases, so whatever.

Looks like I'll most likely be double-dipping on Return of the Living Dead and passing on the rest. Disappointing, but with the increase in CE costs, my wallets' thanking me. The two Tales from the Crypt films plus Army of Darkness were exciting enough for my summer announcements.

What does that having to do with whining in general, I wasnt even naming a specific movie title

Scream is in the business to make money, so there are times they will release a title that already exists on blu ray. If you want them to fail, okay let them release movies in the Garbage Pail Kids league going forward

It's getting really tiresome seeing people fill upwards of ten pages a day up with wishlists just before Scream Factory is going to announce something, then as soon as they do (and some of the most requested films are among those announcements -like Ghost Story, Nightmares, Death Becomes Her, etc.)

What do you seriously expect them to announce? Not knocking the following examples, because I actively buy their product and it's wonderful, but: Vinegar Syndrome gets praised for announcing films most people haven't heard of, Slasher Video is gonna be releasing SD film on Blu-ray, which everyone is excited about, and Arrow Video is putting out equally obscure (if not even more obscure) than the ones Shout has been doing (and at a higher price point), yet the word "meh" is rarely used in the wake of ANY of these label's decision to license and release any given film. Why is this?

Sure, Scream Factory has a compression problem that they've yet to address. And since that became an issue discussed often on this forum everyone has been utterly dismissive of Scream and Shout titles. Beyond just assuming the picture quality will be less-than perfect (to sometimes pretty bad), everyone is flat out shitting all over the entire release in general. (I mean for Christ's sake, I've read "damn. wish Criterion would have gotten _______! like half a dozen times already tonight!)

These are movies that people have been wanting, plain and simple. Sure they aren't A-list horror hits, but neither are what companies like Arrow, Vinegar Syndrome, Code Red, and even Scorpion are putting out. Sometimes they all get a hold of a bigger title, or multiple, and it's a cause for celebration. But condemning anything that isn't a so-called "big" title just baffles me. First of all, whats big to some, might not even be on the radar to others, and secondly, the movies announced tonight are at least ALL known to most (if not all) of Scream Factory's target demo (aka: horror/genre collectors). Can the same be said about most other labels? No. So lets stop this and just be thankful that these movies are coming out from all labels. It's no wonder the physical media market is shrinking if this is the new collector's mindset.

That's all. Now go ahead, feel free to tell me how I'm wrong and you don't have to be happy about anything because this is America and how dare I question your opinion. I'm listening... .
Amen! I agree! It seems if someone doesn't get their wishlist title they get mad as hell as if it's a personal slight from SF. I don't think enough people consider the fact that SF would most certainly get most of the bigger titles mentioned if they could. People make it seem as if SF read these wishlists and decide "hey let's not release the Phantasm boxset.....That will really piss them off" (I would have loved the Phantasm box by the way )

For some reason I thought you were referring to the whining about RotLD specifically. If not then my mistake.

And of course I don't want them to fail. I just didn't want one of the ten releases to be a movie that already has a definitive edition.

As been stated many times, many don't like to import! Yes, the movie will play on most (Not all) players, as will the doc. but all of the other extras won't. I personally refuse to buy a disc that I can't access all the content. I'll be happy to sell off my MGM Blu and have everything in one package, where everything plays on my player and doesn't need a trick for it to play. And again, Escape from NY and Mad Max were both huge sellers for them and they didn't have to put too much effort into them. This movie will do big numbers for them as well! Most of the fans on Facebook probably do not import and will grab it for the More Brains doc. alone, that's a lot of potential customers! The ten people on Bluray.com probably won't impact the sales too much.

Okay!

I was not speaking of sales, more of why some are disappointed it took up one of the 10 announcements!

You should look into importing because many releases overseas kick the US version's ass, especially Arrow Video's genre/horror titles!

Woohoo!

The forum software won't let us do it, so I just copy/paste his updates to the OP. His contributions are appreciated.
