Think of all the fanboys that want titles already on blu ray that they want Shout to release because they want original art and slipcovers.
Id rather them keep releasing titles no other US label has released thanks !

I tend to agree, but will qualify this by saying they should release titles that haven't had a North American Release. I love my Basket Case trilogy Steelbook from the UK, but wouldn't be mad if Scream Factory released their own edition in the states. Having everything on Region A friendly Blu Rays is never a bad thing. Basket Case 2&3, Pontypool, Absentia, Grave Encounters, Bug, Candyman etc. All would benefit from the exposure of a Scream Factory Release. I'm sure sales for Scream Factory would also be decent as well. I do agree though that releasing a film that already has a decent blu ray release in the states can be annoying.

I watched the trilogy over 2 nights last year. It was a blind buy having only seen a few clips and the trailers. I absolutely LOVE parts 2 and 3 as they are just bat shit crazy. I'm also a HUGE Jim Henson fan, so anything that has puppets, rubber monster suits, slime etc generally I find quite enjoyable. The first film isn't bad, but I really really liked parts 2 and 3 more. If you haven't ever watched them before you're in for a treat if you decide to check them out. I fully recommend the Steelbook release. The 3 films all play fine on Region A players, and there's a nice Documentary included as well (Though it won't play on Region A players. I ended up ripping it and watching it through my Media Server since I'm not truly region free capable.). Here's an ebay link for a Sealed copy for under $15 shipped to your door. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I'd rather see Shout/Scream release 'new to Blu-ray' releases over re-releases any day. I'd love them to release horror that never had a DVD release yet

As appealing as this sounds... you have to question whether these would sell more than a few hundred copies. The Dead Next Door recently went the fundraiser route with easily the most stacked Blu Ray Release I've probably ever seen in terms of what's planned for it and it wasn't even able to reach it's meager $10,000 goal with blu Rays selling between $25 and $35 a pop. No obviously it will continue to be available and sales will trickle in over time, but this is a pretty telling sign as to how these more or less forgotten or unheard of films fair on Blu Ray. I'm all for cranking out every conceivable Horror film ever produced onto Blu Ray (just look at my collection) but there are far FAR to many films that would sell decent to really well that are locked up at Sony, Warner, and Lionsgate. Every studio has a price regardless of their "we don't license" policy. Until those other more requested films have Blu rays of their own, It's hard for me to actively want bottom of the barrel VHS leftovers.

Sure, WB/Lionsgate has more well known and desirable titles, but if they won't do business, I'd rather see the more obscure stuff get released than nothing at all.

I too would rather see films that haven't already been released on DVD released now unless they are super out of print and ridiculously expensive to get.

I agree with much of what you said, but you also have to keep in mind that not everyone saw the Indiegogo page, nor the thread on here. It hardly got noticed over the average BS thread. The general public doesn't live on forums like we do and for some buyers anything over $20 is a lot. Also The Dead Next Door had a DVD release and for many buyers that may be just fine with them. Every time a movie is re-released there is less meat on the bone for the next label. The average person doesn't double, triple dip on the same title when it's on the same format. VHS to Blu-ray/DVD is a clean slate for smaller labels. Shout/Scream aren't exactly small...

If Scream can license out a reasonable HD print for cheap, I don't see how they could fail with their large loyal customer base and their market penetration. Many much smaller companies do it all the time.

Yeah I didn't even know it existed, and I AM someone who checks movie sites everyday. Also there are different levels of cult. I mean Blade Runner is a cult movie, by many definitions. Many cult, cult, CULT films will never come to BD, and that's just the logistics of things sadly.

I do think if disc media is going to survive as a niche market it needs to at least be released on Amazon, with long-tail sales counted on for profitability, and at least some decent marketing on sites like this one. Some indiegog campaign you have to follow the right twitter account to know about ain't gonna cut it.

There is a very nice Japanese release of ORCA that is region free, with a high quality transfer.

Does Scream have the BD as well as the DVD rights to Exterminator 2? It's been making the rounds on MGMHD/On Demand as of late.

They have it on DVD, but not sure about blu, would be great to have on blu though. It's coming out in Japan in a couple months on blu.

Wouldn't be surprised if they upgraded it as a double with Eye of the Tiger, like they did with the horror packs.

So I'm going to go out on a limb here as I'm sure many of you will disagree with me on this, but in the hope that maybe someone from Scream Factory would see this and possibly make this happen I'm going to post it anyways.

Disclaimer: I'm a big fan of the Paranormal Activity Franchise.

Yes I understand that the films get worse with each entry, and yes I realize there's a new film yet this year so there's no way Scream could touch anything etc etc, but hear me out. One of my biggest annoyances across this franchise for me has been the refusal to put out the alternate cut of Part 3 that utilized an entirely different story line and new footage. By the Directors own admission, they shot enough footage to create 2 separate films. I've always despised the direction part 3 took despite most folks seemingly enjoying it, as from the little footage available from the alternate cut it appears the alternate cut would have done a much better job of maintaining continuity and holding the franchise together rather than taking it off into another crazy direction. Initially I had hope that Paramount would one day (maybe on the 5th or 10th anniversary of the film) give us the alternate version. I have however wised up since then, and now have only the hope that perhaps one day a label like Scream Factory could possibly step in and do the job for them. Like Nightbreed, this is a rare opportunity to see a very VERY different version of the film. Like Nightbreed, its a version that paramount likely couldn't care less about and has already forgotten. I'm always interested in alternate versions of films as they're such a unique experience. In this case however I honestly feel like the superior version was likely shelved and that this deserves it's own release.

For the few of you still reading I present the original trailer that's chock full of alternate story line's and footage not found in the Theatrical release. This would very much be a Holy Grail type release for me...

Edit: I know this post came out of left field, but my wife and I have been working through the franchise the last few weeks and I just finished part 3 a few moments ago which got me thinking about it again.
