Yes. This is happening in the Vinegar Syndrome thread. Discussion about streaming and a TV channel have completely taken over the thread. I guess it's convenient to just post in the first thread they see as they scroll down

If Ghost Town & I, Madman are any indication, they've finally gotten better. Ghost Town looks especially gorgeous; a beautiful transfer and no lousy compression. It's also a good sign that they're giving Army of Darkness three discs instead of trying to cram everything on just a couple.

I have this thing about ignoring people. No matter how ignorant someone may be, I can't just stand there and ignore them - it's not civilized . I kept hoping he'd go away but I guess he had nothing better to do. I never became upset, just bewildered. Actually, it was kind of amusing watching the expressions on his face each time I pulled out a Blu-ray. There are people out there who think people who collect movies are crazy - he must be one of them.

Didn't get Ghost Town but I, Madman looks great indeed. Very rich, film-like transfer I can't imagine anyone having issues with. Maybe the high-selling Escape from New York and Mad Max discs got enough complaints they finally bothered looking at their compression strategy.

Anybody going to see Bloodsucking Bastards on the big screen this weekend? It's opening in a few cities and Columbus is one of the lucky few so I'll be going to see it. That and the new Iron Maiden album should hopefully help make up for this crappy week.

Oh, I'd buy that in a heartbeat. It ain't perfect, but it's still the best Fantastic Four movie that's been made so far.

Basically, no...

Another version of events - corroborated by Eichinger himself - has it that Eichinger was approached by then-Marvel's film honcho, Avi Arad, and offered a refund of the money spent to make the film. Arad's thinking was that if the film were to see the light of day, it would ruin any chance of future Fantastic Four movies because people would associate the cheesy, Roger Corman-produced, B-movie elements with a higher-budget one. As Arad describes it, he bought the film and burn it so nobody would ever see it. He himself didn't even watch it. The film now has the dubious honour of being the first and only ashcan movie; a term that has its genus in old comics that were made purely for record-keeping purposes.

IMO, it never was. It's more enjoyable, to me, than the 2005 or 2007 films. It's no masterpiece, but it's notoriety for being a bad film is overblown. It looks really, really cheap for a 1994 production, but it's fairly competent, otherwise.

Yeah, for mid-1990s, it looks a lot like it was a lot earlier. Doctor Mordrid looks far better, and that was likely just as cheap.

I always ranked it under the first Tim Story Fantastic 4, but before Rise of the Silver Surfer. So, for me, it never was the worst either. But man oh man, Fant4stic really nailed that coffin shut. HARD. I don't see how anyone could consider it the worst, when before I kinda could have.
