First, cannot wait to dig into "Shocker" and "The Editor" on Tuesday. "The Editor" looks like a riot and I might as well consider this my first time seeing "Shocker" too considering it's been so damn long since the last time I saw it, I seriously cannot remember anything about it.

I'm trying to catch up on some of the more recent titles I've neglected like, "I, Madman" which I watched for the first time this morning and wow, thought it was incredibly dull. Wish I would've rented it first before I bought it. Also need to catch up on "Dog Soldiers" (still), "Sleepaway Camp 3", "Scarecrows", and many more. Hell, some of them may have to just wait til my Halloween marathon. I mean Christ I've still yet to see "Evilspeak", "Dark Angel", "The Beast Within" and quite a few more..

It's hard with all this other shit coming out left and right.

If you thought I, Madman was dull, The Beast Within will knock you out for days.

Yeah, I, Madman ain't dull by slasher standards at all, IMO. It also has lovely direction and is one of Scream's better transfers.

Dark Angel isn't great. I'm not the biggest fan of Dolph's though.

Well, "lovely direction" and a good transfer doesn't mean it's a great film with good plot exactly. But that's just me. Sure, those things matter, but who gives a shit if the plot is boring?

Wait until people see The Legacy. Scream Factory did a great job with the new transfer.

Having not seen it since the 1990s, I had forgotten how much I enjoyed its occult charms.

What we really need is an ultimate edition of Astron 6's "Father's Day." According to them in a video Q&A, every single disc Troma put out is an "obsolete cut." Now that they seem friendly with "Shout!/Scream Factory" I'd love to see them take it off Troma's hands and allow Astron 6 to give us a sanctioned version of the film with bonus material they actually approved of. They even have a feature length making-of doc called "No Sleep No Surrender" which I'm sure they would also like to include considering Troma would not release it, but that's most likely due to Astron 6 calling out Lloyd on it for bootlegging their own movie and removing the Astron 6 logo from posters and replacing it with the Troma one, you know petty shit like that ...

This Q&A address how every disc of "Father's Day" that Troma put out is an "obsolete cut" of the film ...

You can find the trailer for the "No Sleep No Surrender" doc on YouTube as well. "Shout!/Scream Factory" now that you put out "The Editor" talk with Astron 6 and try and get "Father's Day"! .. PLEASE!!

Astron 6 seem to approve of my idea of "Scream Factory" taking "Father's Day" off Troma's lousy hands. I take their "like" to my idea on Facebook as approval. Now, if only "Shout!/Scream Factory" would take action ...

Would someone with insider contacts be able to suggest the two Beastmaster sequels as a potential double feature?

Beastmaster II: Through the Portal of Time
Beastmaster III: The Eye of Braxus

I'd be thrilled just to get the first film (which we in the US are still waiting for).

Great visual direction or sound can get me to like a movie weak in other areas, actually. That aside though, I thought Madman mostly worked. The lead was a unique presence and the idea of the novel coming to life was better executed than I expected. I enjoyed it, though it was borderline as a purchase, I admit.

Scream Factory stuff holds its value well on ebay if you want to sell it. I got $14 for Lifeforce (second release) the other day, which I only paid $13 for, because I ordered the Arrow UK version.

Warlock and Warlock II are no brainers but they're sadly locked inside Lionsgate's impenetrable fortress of solitude.

Amen!
I finally broke down and ordered Hawk the Slayer from AmazonUK, as I don't think Hens Tooth has any plans for it, any time soon.
I didn't even know there were two Beatmaster sequels!

They were released in 1991 and 1996, respectively. I think II was released theatrically, but perhaps as a limited release, because I'd never heard of it until catching it on cable some time after it came out. I'm pretty sure III was direct-to-video. I remember watching the TV premiere on TBS in high school. Neither are particularly good (II transports Dar to Los Angeles for modern day shenanigans and fish-out-of-water humor), but III feels like a proper sequel, because it follows up on events as they were left at the end of the first film and features some of the same supporting characters, although they are recast.

Well, now I just want Shout to release a No-Holds-Barred version of Masters of the Universe.

Thanks Clark, really looking forward to this. I have it ordered along with House of The Long Shadows.

Should receive Shocker tomorrow. One of the few Craven films I never seen. Yes, I know what to expect. I take it that the Crave commentary might be one of his last recorded, or is it a port?

Pretty sure it's from a while back. Maybe a UK DVD, like the ones for They Live and Prince of Darkness. Shocker is decent though. Definitely mid-tier Craven, think Swamp Thing, Scream 2/3 in terms of watchability, but People Under the Stairs in terms of tone.
