Thank you Scream Factory! Your THE LEGACY blu release is terrific. Real Nice transfer and sound. Didn't notice any compression problems at all. I don't understand the complaints I guess since I watch the movies, I don't freeze frame and inspect each frame looking for artifacts. Great work!

Certain people love to complain about compression issues on this forum which can be pretty irritating to people like myself who aren't super video/audio-philes. I just like seeing these crazy, obscure horror movies in their best ever presentation. Besides, and I may be off base here, but haven't they gotten much better recently with compression problems? It seems like most reviews I've read lately have said that there were no compression problems.

I was the guy who posted on the Scream FB page with requests for Enemy Territory and widescreen Arena and The Barbarians.
I appreciate their honesty. While I love that all of these companies are licensing stuff like crazy, it is also bad in a way too. There is so much coming out that the market is getting flooded. With Kino and Olive releasing a TON each month, it is hard to decide what to get first and what to wait for.

What really makes me mad is that so many people request titles but yet when they come out, they don't buy them. I for one begged for widescreen outing and cellar dwellar so I pre-ordered ASAP to show my support. People begged for an SE for Scarecrows and they said it tanked. Where were all of the people that blew up their FB with posts and complaints. I say if you are going to beg and beg, actually buy it. Creating new masters cost money as do special features. It would be such a shame if they somehow cannot do new masters for some of the other culty titles that deserve it.

I for one was psyched that Ghost Town got a home video release...I'm still hoping more people buy these so we can get widescreen Barbarians and Arena. Please people buy these so that more can come out.

At this point, I see Scream Factory moving along the same trajectory as Anchor Bay. Being super awesome and releasing great products until the well runs dry and then mainly focusing on new releases. Scream shouldn't be shocked that the super obscure stuff they are releasing isn't selling like hot cakes. I'd say the reason they are selling at all is due to the Scream Factory brand at this point. I never would have blind bought Ghost Town or the Cellar Dweller/Catacombs set unless Scream released it. Wish I hadn't blind bought Ghost Town btw

I take comments like these with a Grain of Salt these days... Tanked because it didn't make a profit in the first week? Tanked because it failed to break even in week one? Vampire lovers also supposedly was "one of the worst sellers" a few years ago, yet this year it was "One of the best selling titles we've offered". Not all of us can (or even want to) pre-order movies and purchase them immediately upon release. With the output Scream Factory has you'd think they'd refrain from passing judgement on a title until at least 2 years has passed given how important word of mouth is and people's varying budgets. If I had the funds I would GLADLY purchase EVERY Scream Factory title immediately upon release, but Scream Factory isn't the only company releasing Horror films and even if they were I still wouldn't have the finances to keep up all the time. As it stands I currently own 34 titles but haven't gotten around to getting 3 from 2012 and 19 from 2013. I fully intend to purchase Scarecrows, but it came out just a few months ago... how could it possibly be a failure already?

At the end of the day these films will continue to see a steady stream of sales from people like myself that just have to pace themselves. Truth be told, if you want my purchases to occur quicker, get these titles in stores. If Wal-Mart or Best Buy have them in stock the likelihood that I'll make an impulse purchase goes up 10 fold, but when online is my only option, I'm content waiting until the mood is right.

Blech, was going to preorder the December stuff thinking the Shout sale was still going on and it isn't. . .

Guess it'll have to wait for the October sale.

Anybody think we could see a Bubb Ho-Tep announcement this year? Its really the only "big" title from MGM left that Scream hasn't done. Also i'm still holding out hope that they'll release Blood Games, for the life of me i can't understand why they haven't gotten that one yet, its ten times better then a vast majority of the titles theyve announced this year.

Hopefully. That and Serial Mom from Universal.

And since they've been releasing IFC Midnight titles....why not release the HK slasher Dream Home?

I havent thought of Serial Mom for years! That would be a great release, if for nothing else than to get more John Waters films on blu. I t would make a great double feature night with Death Becomes Her too.

Whose to say all of those people didn't purchase the title when it was released. I doubt 3000+ people actually blew up their Facebook page for that title. It may just mean that this release didn't resonate with people outside of the SF inner circle.

Revisited They Live! I haven't watched that movie in a couple of years. I own the John Carpenter: Master of Fear 4 Film Collection DVD. I bought that when it was released around 2009. I was still a teenager barely starting high school. Man, I really love this movie. It is so bad**s. If you haven't seen it, you're definitely shooting yourself in the foot. It's a f***ing awesome movie!

I don't know, this site's reviews for The Legacy and The Sentinel mention these problems. Although The Sentinel fairs much better than The Legacy.

Based on their comments from the KillerPOV podcast and Facebook, SF puts too much emphasis on preorder numbers. Most of us don't preorder when prices are usually the highest. We wait for price drops. I remember them declaring Ninja III as a flop, but after it went on sale a few times at Best Buy and Amazon, it's now considered a good seller. Patience, guys.

I agree, but the sad truth is that the big stores usually don't want to carry catalog titles except for the most well known mainstream stuff.

Wish they'd make it easier and make a few director collections (Hooper, Craven, Carpenter). Id buy the hell out of a Wes Craven set with Deadly Blessing, Swamp Thing, PUTS, Shocker, and Serpent. Easier to justify one big purchase than 5 medium ones.

I'm a big fan of collections and box sets. One purchase and done.

I honestly wonder what would bring Warner, Lionsgate, et al to the table? Are they looking at Shouts viability long term? Ignorance? Greed? Planning some strong resurgence into catalog production? The world may never know....

For Lionsgate I call plain and simple ignorance. They've already produced HD masters for countless films and have them for rent/sale on various websites/services. While these transfers "may not be up to Blu Ray standards" according to some folks... the fact is they're HD prints ready for authoring/sale that are simply being left to flounder online with no attention whatsoever paid to them.

Why does that irritate you though? If a release with compression issues is good enough for you, you get to enjoy it. The videophile, on the other hand, doesn't. It seems to me like you should be happy and the videophile should be irritated.
