It's a damn shame Lionsgate won't source out their catalogue titles to SF. Wishmaster is crying for a SF treatment SE.

I know, classics! I am still creeped out by Sleepaway Camp. I was not ready when I saw it.

I'd love it if Scream could get Road Games from Lionsgate, too.

If I had the money, I'd have so much more of their releases, but unfortunately I have to be very picky and choosey about what I buy.
For the same reason, please no more suggestions, lol!

Thanks everyone!

Road Games is with StudioCanal. I'd love it if they switched from Lionsgate to SF. Maybe get a better Near Dark release while we're at it.

"They already said no" but released it anyway also with Night of the Demons, Return of the Living Dead, Army of Darkness, Tales from the Crypt movies, etc - some with silly chronology (denying the film weeks before it got releases).

Oops, you're right. I was thinking it was Scream I asked about it back in July and that they'd said Lionsgate, but I looked and it was Synapse Films I asked, and they did say Studio Canal. My bad. The way movie rights are spread all over various companies, I never really know who has what and who can release what, at least when it comes to older catalog titles like these.

Same here. So far, I only have Ninja III, Halloween II, and Dark Angel from them. But there are many more I want and will be getting down the line. From Kino, I only own Avenging Force so far, and there's quite a few more I want from them too.

I believe Psycho IV will get a release sooner or later. The well at Universal is drying up.

(for the record, I personally love when Scream releases less known titles that didn't even get DVD releases)
You have to remember, most of those they got from MGM, or other easier wells to tap. For a time they only made one deal with Universal, and it sounded like it was a little harder to set up a second one.

I believe they have only done two deals total with Universal, and they must have felt the titles they chose had a bigger fan base or more mass appeal. Either that, or Universal may want more for that title. I know with Psycho 2 and 3 there were certain rules they had to abide by, the cover art being one, and I thought they mentioned they were more expensive titles (Or possibly they had to choose lesser titles in the packaged deal to get them) and they didn't end up selling as well as they hoped. Even if Psycho 4 is less acclaimed than Psycho 2 and 3, it's still a sequel to one of their big franchises, and like the Jaws sequels they may hold a tighter wrap on it.

Maybe they just don't feel Psycho 4 is worth Universal's conditions, either that or it will come out when they strike a third deal?

This would make for a good Scream Factory acquisition (from MGM):

I agree... but to spite all the complainers Scream Factory will pair it with The Omen IV just to mess with everyone who likes their movies in alphabetical and sequential order. (Myself included).

Anyone know why alot of scream titles are no longer showing up on amazon.uk? Ghost Town. TPUTS and Shocker to name a few are not on there. No wonder their sales are down, can't bloody buy the things. I know i could get them elsewhere but the 3 or 4 quid extra is always spent on other titles, theres too much stuff coming out for that.

It's not the titles they are selecting that's causing this. It's a myriad of factors.
I understand that kind of thinking and if I had unlimited funds (and shelf space) I might consider collecting all of their titles myself to both support the company and be able to say I have all their films. They've definitely put out some stinkers in my opinion but I know that all of the films they've put out have fans who probably never expected many of them to come out on Blu-ray and I think that's fantastic!

It's not just Scream titles. Many titles released since about June haven't been listed on there, and it's pretty concerning since, as you say, Amazon Marketplace is by far the cheapest place to go for UK buyers. We were discussing it in the thread about AllYourMusic over in the UK section.

Surprisingly, I think that's a relatively realistic and viable option.

I finally ordered Escape from New York a few days ago. (Through Amazon Marketplace, where it was a tad cheaper.) Got it this afternoon and just finished watching it. Much as I suspected, it looked perfectly fine to me.

It's great to now have my Carpenter Top 5 on Blu-ray.

Actually I saw Psycho IV back in the day and thought it was surprisingly better than expected for a TV movie.
That's because it's not really a TV movie. It was made for Showtime and thus has language, nudity, etc. It was directed by Mick Garris and feels cinematic because it is. It just happened to have been made for with the intention of having a premium television release.

As far as some suggesting that Scream Factory has taken a stand not to release "made-for-TV" movies, lets not forget they did Body Bags on blu-ray, another Showtime Original Movie. So that's one less reason not to release Psycho IV.

BTW: I genuinely think the new artwork for The Car is better than the original poster!
