your comment sucks. and so does screams stance on not releasing the film. because if they really were for the fans, they would at least make an attempt, theyre not interested in psycho 4, but they are interested in frogs?

Seems like everyone who doesn't agree with you on Psycho IV kind of sucks

Believe me, I'm not against that movie's release, or any other movie's release. If I don't like it I just don't buy it, simple as that. But Scream already said they have no interest in this film and some people act like it's such a big tragedy. And let's face it, it's not.
I don't really particularly love Psycho II or Psycho III (but I own the Scream Factory versions, because I'm an unapologetic completist) but, in my personal opinion, Psycho IV is one of the better horror sequels of all time. In my view it is second only to the original Psycho in terms of quality, artistic merit, and entertainment factor within the franchise.

And my love for Psycho IV is not ironic in any way.

I feel like anyone who sees that movie and thinks it's trash simply because "a #4 could never be good... and it's made for TV too?? How horrible!" didn't do their job as a viewer. I could see them not liking it, but saying it's bad or garbage is ridiculous and factually incorrect, as far as I'm concerned.

It's well acted with Olivia Hussy (a Golden Globe winner and critically acclaimed actress) stealing the show from even the fan-favorite Anthony Perkins. It's well shot, on film not on video like some incorrectly believe (another hint they likely haven't seen the film), and also well written by none other than Joseph Stefano, the same writer of Hitchcock's film. It feels authentic and classy and not like a made-for-tv movie whatsoever. Mostly because it was made for a PREMIUM channel, not network tv.

I would imagine Psycho 4 would generate more interests and business for them than Squirm, Deadly Eyes, The Final Terror, Saturn 3, Eve of Destruction, Exterminators in the Year 3000, and Women's Prison Massacre. They probably could have done a Psycho trilogy set like they did with the Amityville movies.

(for the record, I personally love when Scream releases less known titles that didn't even get DVD releases)

Apparently Scream disagrees, or the movie would be released by now, so I'm afraid all that doesn't really matter when it comes to this.

Clearly they must. But they aren't critics, so their opinion of a film shouldn't matter when it comes to releasing it. The two are mutually exclusive.

The fact that they're putting out The Brain that Wouldn't Die means NOTHING should be off limits if the consumers are willing to purchase it. And by the way they talk, Psycho IV couldn't possibly undersell most of what's come out this year.

But, again, I'm not sh!itting on Scream Factory. I'm an adamant supporter. Just pointing out some inconsistencies.

I would assume that's too bad for horror aficionados on the whole?

I honestly don't get all the love for Psycho IV, with people going so far as to claim it would sell better than other titles. It's not a terrible film but, c'mon, it's Psycho IV. Besides, it's a TV movie. SF has discontinued that category

More than any other films I own, Scream Factory titles bring me back to when video stores were so awesome they had a ninja section.

Here's what I own. The rest, I am not so familiar with. As vastly more knowledgeable horror aficionados than myself, what other Scream titles do you think should definitely be added to that list?

Halloween II
Halloween III: Season of the Witch
Terror Train
The Funhouse
They Live
Death Valley
Deadly Blessing
Phantasm II
From Beyond
The Town That Dreaded Sundown
The Burning
Ninja III: The Domination
Lifeforce
The Howling
The Fog
I Come in Peace
Day of the Dead
Prince of Darkness
Psycho II
Psycho III
Body Bags
Cat People
Witchboard
Motel Hell
Leviathan
Pumpkinhead
Nightbreed - The Director's Cut
Pumpkinhead II
Lord of Illusions

My copy of The Funhouse arrived from Amazon today with a slipcover in perfect condition. Woo hoo! I was not expecting that, since it's such an old release.

Name brand is a powerful tool in terms of sales and marketing.

Squirm
Deadly Eyes
I, Madman
Scarecrows

All underrated gems. Also, no Night of the Demons or Sleepaway Camp? Get on those pronto!

How about Psycho IV released by Twilight Time?

Actually I saw Psycho IV back in the day and thought it was surprisingly better than expected for a TV movie.

I feel bad for fans of PSYCHO IV because I honestly don't understand Scream's logic for not releasing it when they did II and III.

As for the people saying "they already said no" regarding PSYCHO IV, Cliff said the same thing, numerous times, about HOWLING II and now look.

I actually don't like PSYCHO IV that much, but there's no reason Scream Factory might not reconsider down the line. Considering what they did with THE RAGE: CARRIE 2 and the CARRIE TV remake, I'd fully expect a PSYCHO IV/remake double feature disc down the line.

That is such a perfect description. That's exactly the kind of vibe they give off. I got that from Anchor Bay with DVDs, and now I get it from Scream Factory with Blu-rays. So awesome.

If I had the money, I'd have so much more of their releases, but unfortunately I have to be very picky and choosey about what I buy.
