Damn. Glad first one was since it was directed by Stan Winston (RIP).

As for the Crow, the 1st is my favorite followed by the 3rd (Salvation), The 2nd (City of Angels) was ok & the 4th (Wicked Prayer) is horrible lol. I own & enjoyed all the Hellraiser films except the last one Revelations. That one was pretty bad & Doug Bradley isn't Pinhead so it didn't even have him to redeem it a bit.
I remember watching one of the Pumpkinhead sequels when SyFy was still Sci-Fi Channel (correct?). Doug Bradley was Pinhead in all Hellraiser films except for that one which is odd. At least both Clive Barker and Doug Bradley are coming back for the "remake".
For The Crow I've only seen and own or have owned the first film. Sequels I've kept putting off seeing them, except I might've caught Wicked Prayer randomly while changing channels. Wish the USA disc wasn't a BD25 and filtered a bit (Needs a 4K remaster IMO). The Crow: Stairway to Heaven TV show with Mark Dacascos was quite good from memory and I should give it a rewatch sometime.

Like zbinks said, 4 Night of the Demons movies (but I'd love to forget the god-awful remake; talk about a let-down from such an overall good cast).

The NOTD remake wasn't so bad IMO. Compared to much of today's DTV crap and mostly terrible remakes I thought this one was fun and above average. Lots of eye candy

I've done a check and the last scream title that has shown up on Amazon.uk was I' Madman. Nothing since. Its got to be affecting screams sales.

Arrow Video contractor has said a couple times on the forum that import/export sales are pretty negligible for them, and I would guess Scream is the same.

No so sure myself on that. Arrow cover alot of genres while scream is just horror with a few non horror plus ive heard loads of labels scream included citing overseas releases as reasons not too release certain titles. Just this week 88 are uncertain of releasing Intruder no doubt because they are worried about most already having the synapse release. Overseas may only make up so much of total sales but it will all come off top line profit if they are not there. Haven't scream recently mentioned poor sales as well? take off euro sales too(there not on the german amazon either) then thats even worse.

The remake wasn't great, but I did prefer it to Night of the Demons 3. The original and part 2 are pretty much essential Halloween viewing though. Part 2 is surprisingly pretty good for a mid 90's horror movie.

Yeah, I also enjoyed Night of the Demons 2. I have a soft spot for a lot of direct-to-video '90s horror.

Doug Bradley passed on the last Hellraiser because he said after reading the script and hearing their plans, he knew it was not a serious attempt to continue or revive the franchise, but instead Dimension scrambling to get something made just in order to maintain the rights, which were about to expire. The whole thing, from development to release, was done in barely a couple months.

...and maybe it's because I knew this when I watched it, but I still don't think the film is that bad. It's not a good film, but it was entertaining and still miles ahead of many direct to video crap fests or just about anything/everything Syfy channel has created... Also helping was that I paid $2 for the Blu Ray, but even at $5 it's worth a pick up if you enjoy the Hellraiser films. As far as pure entertainment value goes, I'd rate Revelations above Inferno. Inferno is hand's down the more professional film, but It's origins as anything but a Hellraiser film are apparent and even after repeated viewings I still consider it the weakest entry in the franchise. (And yes I'm aware that Inferno is closer to the stories that Clive Barker Wrote).

Back to a topic brought up earlier... Were the Pumpkin Head Sequels (3&4) shot on film? Is a Digital HD file or Blu Ray possible? I don't expect these to ever make it to Blu Ray officially, but If I had to, I could settle for making my own Blu Rays from Digital HD files if necessary.

In preparation for my October horror marathon I ended up blind-buying a ton of Scream Factory BDs. Backcountry, The Burning, I, Madman, Night of the Demons, and Terror Train. I'm really looking forward to them but I'm worried that they'll all end up sucking. All of them besides Backcountry especially, since I've heard a ton of great things about all of them.

I recently watched Terror Train, and I enjoyed it immensely. I highly recommend you watch it when it's dark and there's no light to bother you.

I love indie labels to death for releasing all of this obscure stuff, but I'm hot and cold with Shout/Scream Factory. It feels like every time I blind buy from them I end up disappointed. Tank Girl, The Howling, a lot of the super obscure Corman/MGM multi-film sets on DVD. Oh, and especially Gun Woman, that one hurt the most. I was hyped for it for at least a year before the BD came out since I'm a huge Asami fan. Bought it and the movie kind of sucks. So I usually avoid their releases, and I'm wary about blind buying their stuff. That's why I'm so worried about the five I got.

I a bit opposite in that I enjoyed I, Madman but didn't like Terror Train too much. The Burning I love though.

Just screened THE SENTINEL. Another fine job from Scream Factory! My second favorite horror film after THE EXORCIST. Very nice transfer and the audio quality is the best I've ever heard for this title. Can't wait to dive into those 3 commentary tracks! Thank you, Scream for finally acquiring and releasing this on Blu Ray.

My Scream Factory Blu-rays of Witchboard and Night of the Demons arrived in the mail today.

The Blu-ray of Night of the Demons, which is a Collector's Edition, arrived without a slipcover. I'm sure that I'll come to terms with this after months of extensive therapy and precise medication dosages.

(Actually, I'm ambivalent about the slipcovers. All of my other SF Collector's Editions Blu-rays have them, but it's not a huge issue.)

I'm looking forward to delving into these when October comes around!

Keep telling yourself that every time you look at your shelves... and that small part of you deep down inside knows that you didn't get the "complete" package... Sure, "it's only a piece of cardboard" you'll tell yourself... "I don't even like the Illustrated art, that's why I flip the artwork" you'll say... "but... it is kind of cool that they took the work to produce it... and with that slipcover I get to enjoy both covers at the same time" you'll find yourself thinking... You'll then browse over your collection, feeling good about the fine collection you've built... Before long you'll find yourself admiring your Scream Factory collection exclusively... "title after title of obscure 80's goodness rescued from oblivion, Complete with special features, and extra perks for the true fans of these films" you'll think... suddenly you'll feel a pit in your stomach... your mouth will run dry and you'll feel a tightness in your throat... "It's only a piece of cardboard you'll remind yourself"... but the damage is done.. the seed of doubt has sprouted and begun to take hold. "It may be a piece of cardboard, but I want it" you'll think... it's then that the cold sweat will set in... "I must have this cover" you'll tell yourself. "I purchased all the other movies with covers" you'll think, "I don't want my collection incomplete". It's then you'll realize that there's no escape... you want the cover and you want it now....

Hahaha.

I'm glad that I don't have all of my Scream Factory Collector's Edition titles on the shelf next to one another. I keep all of them stored randomly with other Blu-rays.

In all seriousness, I do enjoy Scream Factory slipcovers because of the original artwork involved, but, at the end of the day, they're not essential.
