Why didn't they just announce some of these yesterday? I'm sure the two Curse films would have gone down well, and R.O.T.O.R seems to have its fans (the poor souls). I'm a little surprised though that The Curse is not a single release. I actually thought they might even do a Collector's Edition of it, and then maybe a double bill of Curse II and Panga. But a double feature is great - the more films on a release the better!

If they are releasing R.O.T.O.R, no MGM title can be out of bounds! Fingers crossed for Rolling Vengeance and Enemy Territory next year.

Im not sure Panga is with MGM. Since the Curse films were a pair on DVD, and since Shout likes to do double features this was an easy choice. Not every title can get the special edition treatment for whatever reasons. There are probably some reasons why they didnt announce yesterday ( and this was before the tragedy in Paris) maybe some titles werent cleared to be announced yet..

Well I know they said something about closing a deal, but it couldn't have been for these, given that Mister Lime has said the Curse films were with another label for some time now. I wouldn't be surprised if they were hoping to announce 'bigger' titles, and that the deal in question was another with Universal, or even something else.

Yeah, it wasnt for those titles Bruce mentioned, maybe another Universal deal or Fox..
But if they did have those titles for some time, they still could have had to wait until it 100% clear. Its a little more than having a title to announce, there are contracts and other factors before they announce titles. Im guessing Scream wasnt 100% ready to announce them whatever reason they have

Well obviously they had reasons because they chose not to announce them (indeed, they didn't do anything for Friday the 13th at all, which is unusual for them), but I don't see how there could be any legal hold-ups given that they've already scheduled them for February. Maybe they're waiting to announce extras with it, still mocking up artwork, etc - I could believe that. I imagine they'll 'officially' announce them over the next couple of days as is usually the case when some announcement about a title or extras leaks.

My guess is that they wanted to announce some bigger title(s) for Friday the 13th, but after that didn't pan out they decided not to announce anything.

You never know, maybe someone at MGM has not signed the dotted line for anything official yet. They will have to be announced sooner than they wanted. Sometimes a leak can cause a legal hold up or just a lot of problems. We dont know what goes on behind the scenes...but there must be some reason that they werent announced yet

I agree. I expect they'll now confirm these on Monday now that the cat is out of the bag.

Ha, I ordered the German BD of Midnight Run just yesterday.

I doubt there will be much difference between that and what Shout puts in Feb.

No Way Out is the one I'll be getting.

Maybe Shouts will have a Slipcover since its a Collectors Edition. They probably have extras lined up , maybe the same or more than the Second Sight release ..(or less)

Honestly the only thing I liked about TCM: The Begining is R. Lee Ermey.
