If only this was a real listing...and produced by Scream.

Anyone know why this is out there?

There are a lot of listings like that because people like to create listings for their wishlist.

There are two box sets of anthology horror films coming out in Germany...a poster on another forum said they were coming next month, but there is no release date listed on bluray.com!

Do a search for 'Creepshow 3' in Germany on here and the two boxsets show up.

Unfortunately, like someone has already said, i guess they could just be upconverts. shame.

Nothing new but I just watched final exam for the first time last night and wasn't overly impressed. A little too slow for me and when the killer actually showed even that was pretty boring. Too bad because the premise sounded good and I actually liked a lot of the characters. Trying to complete my scream collection so I grabbed this and final terror yesterday.

The thing about Final Exam that makes it arguably my favorite slasher (as someone who has literally seen more than humanly possible, from Friday the 13th to Moonstalker) is that it's nothing if not authentic.

I get calling the killer boring, but it's really misinterpreting the real motive he has, which is actually a lack of one. Like Radish says, sometimes people just wake up one morning and decide that today's the day they want to kill. And virtually nothing is gonna get in their way.

I get the argument that the final girl is dowdy and not particularly memorable or strong like others of the slasher era, and that, again, I believe to be a misinterpretation of what the film's saying. She's just a normal girl. In ways even the most cliche of final girls simply are not. She isn't special, but she survived the tragedy that affected her friends.

I just really like it, and I've come to terms with it's mixed-to-negative reception among fans who've revisited it lately. But I really wish more people "got it", because Final Exam's pretty great when taken in context of what the film's trying to convey.

If anything, a "lack of motive" makes it more interesting since you could say it grounds the events in reality more and is far scarier than someone who kills because, say, the victim never paid you back the $5 he lent you. People are murdered for stupid reasons all the time in real life but it's the creeps who do it for fun (or no reason) who really make you nervous.

Which is what makes Michael Myers the ultimate boogeyman in the first film, and why I feel the franchise became diluted with every sequel. Once you introduce motive and backstory, you've taken away the creepiest thing about the character.

Right, which I guess I lumped into liking the premise. I like the idea of not knowing who it is or why they're doing it. Just think the pace could have been faster and maybe more intense. There were no make you jump kind of moments. No decent chases. Something about it just wasn't exciting for me. I think it had some great potential.

This write-up just increased my desire to see this film 10 fold and is exactly why I like these forums. Every once in a while someones passion for a film shines through in a sane way that makes a film I otherwise paid little attention to suddenly much more interesting. Thanks for sharing your thoughts in such a rational and cohesive manner!

Is Anchor Bay still releasing horror films? I know they released SE of House 1 and 2 back in the day. In UK they released a House collection boxset with House 4 that has a commentary that was never released here. Maybe Anchor Bay can get the rights again from Image and Warner if Scream Factory won't do it?

Final exam is a real gem in my opinion as well. I suppose you would have to appreciate slashers in general to like the movie, which is no small thing considering how a lot of people look down on slashers. The movie is certainly miles above the worst of the slashers (don't go in the woods...alone!). There is just something about final exam that makes it stand out from most of the pack, it's no Halloween or Friday the 13th but it's firmly in that 2nd tier.

I guess I could understand why people might not like it. Killer has no motive, final girl is a carbon copy of Jamie Lee Curtis but those things only make the movie more enjoyable to me.

I really enjoyed Final Exam, and I should revisit the Blu-ray soon.

What really stands out for me about the movie is that the characters are all quite likable. I also like the nature of the killer, because it's more representative of the real-life randomness of such events.

Another big fan of Final Exam here. I rank it above my other favorites from that era (Graduation Day, Sleepaway Camp, Funhouse, The Prowler) because it is no gimmicks and I actually like the atmosphere it creates. It gives off a real "maybe this could happen on campus" feeling because without the costume aspect, the killer could theoretically blend in and the "everyone has gone home" aspect helps set up the story. I also love the lead and found myself rooting for her in an Alice, Nancy, and Lori type of way (something I did not experience with the movies I listed above).

USA Next shout factory sale is when?

Do you think we will have to wait until March madness for the next sale? Thoughts? Debating on some pre-orders.

95% sure Shout did a Valentines sale last year. I'd wait until around then to order anything.

I know this isn't technically Scream Factory related but thought I'd share. Not sure how long it will last but Amazon has the Special Edition BluRay of My Blood Valentine for under $15 right now! I've seen auctions (that I've "Watched") sell it for $30. It says stock will be available Jan 27th, but I've gone and made my order to make sure I get the price.

Here's a link:

That film has been oop for a few years now so this means 1 of 3 things...

a) This is a new reissue that no one is aware of that is releasing on the 31st.
b) Some outlet store had a bunch stashed in a warehouse somewhere and just found them.
c) This listing is in error and will never ship out.

My Money is on C.

Interesting... when I made my comments it was still available from some outlet store at $14.99... the fact it's gone down already may give some hope that a limited number were listed and have now sold out. I still need this film, and that was a great price, but I assumed it was a bogus entry so I'll be curious to hear from anyone that ordered as to whether they get a copy or not.

Really hoping it was indeed an instance of someone having a bunch that they threw on and they sold out. My order still says "will ship Jan 27". I buy music regularly (1,000+ items in my collection) and reissues/remasters tend to be incredibly overpriced only to suddenly drop down to half the price for a day or two (usually because someone uncovers/provides a bunch of unsold copies). I've gotten some incredible bargains this way and am clinging to hope that the same is true for this BluRay! I've lost two auctions for it in the past two weeks (sold for $25 and $38 respectively) alone.
