Creepshow 3 is an abomination and Scream should not waste any money to release it

It is in the realm of possibility for Arrow to release Creepshow 2 as a Special Edition in the future, considering they're doing The Stuff, another New World movie from that timeframe, in April.

88 Films is releasing Creepshow 2 in the UK this year. Hopefully it has some nice extras.

I wonder if Death Wish 2 will be released under the Scream banner? I've never seen it but I imagine it's similar to Class of 1984, genre-wise.

It won't be a Scream Factory title.

Internally, we talked about this at length (and a few other titles that are coming up that have not been announced) that teeter-tottered on that fine line between what makes it into the "Scream" or "Shout" brand. As you know, we've pushed that envelope already with Class of 1984, Assault on Precinct 13 and Sonny Boy - and all were met with a degree of customer confusion since they weren't traditionally-defined horror or sci-fi films. Because DW2's content plays more "action" and less "horror, thriller" at the end of the day we ultimately felt it would feel more appropriate to be Shout-branded release.

Unfortunately they'll be recycling the same underwhelming transfer used for the US disc.

Maybe SF should come up with another imprint for movies like Death Wish 2 - the Shout Factory line feels more appropriate for things like Puf'N'Stuff and their other children's content and 70's melodramas. Shout Action Theater?

SF should look into the Amityville sequels. Yes, they're crap, but they're watchable crap

Amityville 4, 1992 and Dollhouse are pretty good. What do you think are the chances these will be released on blu ray given the impending release of Amityville Awakening in theaters? Has SF ever commented on whether they may release these films?

I'm still sitting here waiting for a great blu ray release of the horror classic, Jack Frost 1997..... I'll just keep waiting I guess. Hmmmmm sad.

Not sure about the chances of Shout or anyone else releasing the sequels on Blu but these movies seem to have been forgotten by pretty much everyone. With all of the reissues and requests for titles that have been released overseas, the Amityville films never seem to get mentioned. As for the rights, I remember seeing the VIDMARK ENTERTAINMENT label on at least one of these (Amityville 1992, I think) - which means the dreaded Lionsgate have current rights. It's funny, Lionsgate just announced their 4K lineup. Like, who gives a shit? I want to see their neglected back catalog released on Blu - not the same old junk on a format only trust fund elitists will adopt.

I just ordered The Guardian,Vincent Price Collection III, and Cherry Falls. I can't wait to spin The Vincent Price Collection III. I loved the first two.

By the way, Cine74, I love your profile pic of the Theater Marquee. I can't believe they had The Mutilator and Pieces showing at the same time. Was this a theater that you actually attended?

No, that pic was first posted on the Mutilator thread by a member here (NoirFan, was that you?) and it was love at first sight so I decided it was going to be my avatar . Old theater marquees like that one fascinate me, probably because it brings up good memories from my trips to 42nd Street during my childhood. Every time I walk by an old abandoned theater I get sad. But I think PIECES and MUTILATOR double features were pretty common in those days. IIRC, that's probably how I saw the films on 42nd.

I once made a copy of the PREY on dvd-r wth an awesome dvd-r recorder, I edited out all the unwanted nature footage, and it blended together very well. Although it brought the movie down to 1.05 mins. ha ha but still, it was great to see it without all that nature crap..

I really want The Prey on Blu Ray. I thought I read at one time that 88 films was actually thinking of trying to acquire this film for possible release.

Does the upcoming Blu-Ray releases in Germany of 'The Willies' and 'Campfire Tales' make it any more likely that a company like Scream might pick these up?

Depends on who controls the rights in the US. If these are MGM films then I'd say expect the Region 1 announcement sometime this year

They're probably just upconverts like seemingly every other Germany-only non-studio genre release.
