Universal doesn't hold US distribution rights to Candyman; Sony does.

That's right, I knew that... Damn it. Universal owns the foreign rights (hence the UK release). Thanks for the correction. Brain fart.

On an unrelated note.. I just got my notice from Shout/Scream Factory about my titles ordered on 2/14, and the news isn't good but what we all suspected.

Scream usually average 4-5 releases a month, so I'm hoping for 3 announcements really. Fingers crossed for Rolling Vengeance and Enemy Territory.
I hope we see more titles from the '60s. I enjoyed Die Monster Die and The Brain That Wouldn't Die and would like to see more horror/sci-fi movies from that decade on blu-ray.

I got the same email, for the 3 titles I ordered then also.

I'm fine with waiting, but a week to tell me that is a little long.

I ordered on 2/15 and haven't heard anything from Shout yet. There is a place holding charge on my credit card, however I ordered Nightmares which I believe has been back ordered. We will see what happens with this order. I am not in a rush for my order, but am curious to know what is going on.

Default Problem Child...

I know this is off topic and this isn't a scream factory candidate... but since problem Child and problem Child 2 are universal.. I'm thinking and hoping that these might be released from shout.. just matter of time...

I contacted them and they got back to me yesterday. Nightmares was the delay and the CS rep said that they are still waiting for it to arrive so all the order can ship. I asked if it was due in the next day or 2, and if not, to cancel it. He cancelled Nightmares and my order will ship out today, so I guess it's more than a 2 day wait for it to arrive.

edit: shipment did go out on 2/23, so Nightmares was the culprit

Extras will be announced sometime in Late April. The newly-designed front-facing artwork you see here is final (not pictured is the reverse wrap image which will showcase the original theatrical poster art.)

Early pre-order now directly from us @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/film/fi...ctor-s-edition and receive a free 18" x 24" poster of the new art (while supplies last) plus early shipping!
Rejoice!

With Raising Cain confirmed for 28th June, and Lady in White 21st, hopefully we'll see 2 or 3 more announcements for June over the next week.

Wow! What a nice surprise.
Such a great thriller, and a tad underrated IMO. Day 1 for me!

There's not much left in the Universal vault. Did Shout shoot down Session 9 recently? Besides that one, what's left?

Hitcher, The (2007)
Cry_Wolf
Virus
When a Stranger Calls Back
Psycho (1998)

I'm pretty sure they did say that Slither wasn't in the cards.

^Serial Mom (c'mon Shout, make it happen!) and The Thing.

Raising Cain is pretty meh.

Whoa guy. I was only referring to potential Scream Factory releases. Not many there on that list. Streets of Fire would be sweet, though.

Funny thing is I use to hate Halloween 3 but over the years I've grew to enjoy it more than any of the others. Its a great little flick and if it would have just been Season of the Witch I think it would be a lot more praised.

(Pruned for Scream-esque titles)
Ok, let's see...

The Jaws sequels have been turned down a number of times. As have Child's Play 2 and 3. Tremors isn't likely. Matinee has been turned down. The 'Burbs has been turned down.

Which leaves....Firestarter which might be possible since Universal has already put out a blu of it. Streets of Fire which would really be more of Shout! title.

My guess is that once Universal has (eventually) popped out their own blu of The 'Burbs then they might let Scream Factory have it. The rest are all basically off-limits though.
