There were two DVDs of The Supernaturals issued in Germany, to be exact, under different titles and one being somewhat cut. The one that I own, which is the uncut version under the title of "Rebellion der Zombies", is actually regionfree. PAL format of course but the disc is open for regions 1-6. That said, picture quality could be better and aspect ratio is only in 4:3.

Child's Play 2 and Poltergeist III (yes, I like this way more than part II) are on my "wishing, praying, hoping" list.

My thoughts are if they plan on announcing all 3 Child's Play films together, it will be in the form of a Human centipede style trilogy/box set release. If they only announce one, then I think individual collectors editions are likely. Slither (and possibly Bubba Ho-Tep) seem possible/likely at some point if not this year, so I agree with that suggestion for sure, and while Tales from the Hood is amongst my top wants, I just don't think I'll ever see it on Region A Blu Ray.

just received YOU'LL LIKE MY MOTHER, and the transfer is excellent. I'm particularly happy to have the new interviews with co-stars Richard Thomas and Sian Barbara Allen. This is a great release!

I'd LOVE The Supernaturals. That cast is a whopper and even though it all ends up pretty nonsensical, it's great fun. Plus, young and pretty Maxwell Caulfield. Cool rider.

I think they'll release the first three films, but I'm leaning towards standalone releases for the following reasons:
  • As BarnDoor pointed out, a complete series boxset was already released by Universal.
  • There are no standalone Blu-Ray releases for the second and third films.
  • All three films would probably warrant full-blown "Collector's Edition" treatment, individually.
  • The licensing arrangements for a boxset would probably be more complex since the first film is with MGM and the sequels are with Universal.

I requested it a while back and they said 'No'.

Which doesn't really mean anything. Although in my personal experience when I've requested films that they've eventually announced, they've not replied whereas with ones they don't have, they've responded with a definite 'No'.

I can't look past the Legion cut of Exorcist III and more CE's of previously released MGM and Universal titles (Child's Play, and hopefully Misery and Carrie). That said, a CE of Dead Ringers (a Morgan Creek title) would be quite the coup, providing they can beat Criterion to the punch. Phantasm is another possibility.

Great news if it happens, as I don't own any of these, with the exception of Child's Play.

I thought that they couldn't get child's play movies and they turned them down.. didn't want give up their franchise films??? Did they convince them to let them go?

Slither is #1 on my list at this point.

I might pick up Childs Play as I don't own it. I don't know about the sequels.

Poltergeist II and III just got releases. It would have to be an extremely robust package of extras. I'm talking at least a couple hours of making of documentaries on the entire series.

IIRC, back in 2013, SF had the chance to get the Child's Play 2-3, but decided not to when Universal told them they were releasing a box set.

But that was 3 years ago, which is adequate time to attempt a double dip.

MGM offered their key titles and Scream seems to have grabbed several of them ; not sure about the Universal deal. Universal tends to hold on tight to their franchise films. Of course that could change down the road now that Universal is/has released their bigger titles. The problem with Universal deals is that they arent exclusive to Shout Factory meaning Universal can still release the same films licensed to Shout..
It seems like they could get the Childs Play movies..maybe a set with the different studios ala Halloween ?

Mine shipped

I think the current disc for Child's Play looks pretty good, I'd rather see something that isn't released at all I guess.

Looking back now, I wish I had, because, you know, they didn't do any extras on Child's Play 2 or 3, so you know, those probably would've done well, so you know, if the door is open again and if we can make another deal then I probably would put those on there.

I recently got the Chucky box set and I'm glad it was on sale when I did. Honestly I'm not that impressed with it. It's very plain. So I wouldn't mind SF releasing their own box set. And if they are just going to release Child's play 1 I would buy it day 1. Even if I already own all of them. I think they would do a nice job with it. Of course we all want to see titles that haven't been release yet. That was sort of the whole purpose of Scream Factory to begin with, but I don't mind these releases either as long as they're going to be upgrades.

Is it about the movie anymore or about the new shiny package? All this talk about re-releases is a bummer. The Chucky set is just fine as is, how much more can you really add to it? A couple features you'll watch once that you can catch on you tube ?

I can't see buying Child's Play 1 - 3 when I already own the box set. If SF were to release collector's editions or a new box set of only the first 3 films, then I would have to keep the current box set just for Bride and Seed (even though I'm not really a big fan of Seed), since that is the only way to get those two. It would be easier for me to justify a new set if they were to include Bride, Seed, and Curse in a new box set. Of course, I say this when I know that I will end up buying whatever they decide to release.
