Coincidentally, I do not have any big plans this weekend either.

I am so totally envious.

I don't know how that's possible, but assuming it's true, all roads to seeing Clownhouse re-released go through Winters and it's very unlikely things change.
What I heard is that Winters threatened to sue MGM if they didn't take the DVDs out of circulation, which they did. I didn't know he was able to prohibit the film from getting distributed.
Yeah, whatever the case is, I don't see this film getting released in the US.

I wonder if it would get released if/after Salva dies whenever that would be.

Maybe after Winters and all involved parties have been dead for a while.

Well maybe Winters wouldn't mind it being released if Salvas not around to profit or enjoy it? Idk it was just a thought. I don't expect any of them to die anytime soon anyways.

I'm actually kinda surprised some radical hasn't murdered Salva. Not condoning it, but I'm a little surprised.

Every collector's edition release since Cat People in January 2014 has had its slip shrinkwrapped.

They're secretly waiting for Salva to finish Jeepers Creepers 3 first lol

Pumpkinhead arrived yesterday and to my shock, it had a slip! Still no shipping update on Motel Hell.

I've never seen Pumpkinhead all the way through, so am hoping I enjoy it!

I received both The Funhouse and The Fog yesterday. The Fog, however, didn't come with a slipcover. Does anyone know if this title usually comes with a slipcover if bought on Amazon?

The Fog is an older title and one that came out before Slipcovers were routinely shrink wrapped to the Blu ray itself. What you got is perfectly normal. If you want a slip watch the trade forum and/or ebay as they turn up from time to time.

Just because it's an older title shouldn't justified for not containing an slip. For instance, I bought the Shout editions of Halloween 2 (1980) & 3 (1981) online at BestBuy.com and each were delivered with slipcovers.
The Fog was actually release after both H2 & 3, in July 2013.

The question would now be, if one buys it directly from Shout website, which costs $9 more than what I bought it for, will it come with a slipcover?

Probably not. Shout states on their website that they only guarantee slips within 3 months of release, after that it's first come first serve. I've had good success with Best Buy online though.

There's multiple factors...

How old the title is
How many copies with slips SF shipped to retailers
How well the title sold
How many copies with slip "retailer x" got
How many copies were sold at "retailer x". Stores with better prices and sales move more copies. A store that higher prices and rarely has sales might be sitting on more stock with slips.

As for ordering from Shout's website, they only guarantee a slip 90 days after release.

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't know that slipcovers from Shout were guaranteed only for the first three months after the initial release date.

SLIP CASE TALK BELOW:

Amazon orders I've received without a slip (that actually have them): Terror Train, Lake Placid, The Fog, Sleepaway Camp.

Amazon orders I've received with a slip: Funhouse, The Burning, Pumpkinhead

So it's about half and half. I plan to keep up with releases and just buy them through Scream Factory from now on (when I really want the title) like I did with TC2, JC, JC2, Death Becomes Her. If there is no slip, I'll just do amazon and save the money like I did with Disturbing Behavior and Cherry Falls. I have to say, my OCD hates that they removed the little blue square from the top of their slips but I'll live.

Motel Hell FINALLY has a delivery estimate. Hopefully that one has the slip.

Carrie, The Fly, Killer Clowns from Outerspace, Misery, Teen Wolf, Childs Play, Last House on the Left, Silence of the Lambs.

This is just a theory, based on the 13 titles that Fox made special new cover inserts for around Halloween two years ago. Scream has already done TCM2, Invasion, Jeepers Creepers, Species, and Return of the Living Dead from that set of titles. Seems like at least some of these are a safe bet.

Scream did Species II. But I see a CE coming for the original from them sometime soon.

Your buying frequency will drop since they rarely have sales, but I've always ordered older Scream titles from Deep Discount and have yet to receive a slipless Blu (knock on wood). Something to consider.

just got Day of the Dead delivered today.

It was my last title from the Amazon Sale and was backordered when i ordered it and shipped yesterday and arrived just now.

It did Come with the Slip also

so out of the 27 titles i ordered 19 came with Slips and 8 Didnt.

so 70% with Slips, i can live with that easily considering the prices i paid.
