Feels like forever having to wait for Jeepers Creepers to be sent out and stocked again... I refuse to pay $35 for a movie that I know will be around $22 in due time. Does anybody know how long it will take Scream to fix the whole wrapping issue and send them back out?

I guess my question about foreign releases was because I just purchased the Azumi movies, and the only Blurays with English subs that I could find were piss poor dvd upconverts from Taiwan =(

Thanks for the replies, though =)

Typically re-stocks take 3-4 weeks I believe. In this case however if they actually recalled all the unwrapped product to have it wrapped that will add at least a week or two to the process. My guess is that this will be "on order" for around 5-6 weeks. This is not official information however and I could be way off, but just going by some other recent re-stocks I believe my estimate should be close.

Jeepers creepers was pulled... 2 weeks ago? If so then I'd guess that these will start showing back up the first week of August if not a bit sooner.

Amazon gave me a Jeepers Creeper arrival estimate for next week, so it should be coming way before August.

Excellent. Like I tried to make clear before, I had no official information and was just guessing. I based my estimate on the usual time Amazon lists when an item is on order and then added a week or two to account for the time to return the product and have it wrapped before shipping it back to the warehouse locations.

I also always try to over shoot a release rather than undershoot it. When people are expecting a long wait they tend to complain less than if they are expecting a short wait and then don't receive their product until some time later.

Any news on SF Child's Play? Hopefully we get a new 2K remaster.

Officially it hasn't even been confirmed yet. My guess is that it will be "announced" during the week of Comic-con and then we'll start getting information. At this point I'd say it's pretty safe to think that we'll get a new scan of some kind.

I watched the MGM disc of Child's Play not long ago and thought it looked really good. Also has good commentaries and supplements. I know Shout just added one little featurette to Mad Max though and sold a ton of them, so who knows.

You raise a good point. The last few re-releases have come from new scans and based on the comments made during the podcast last month about how 2k scan costs have dropped dramatically in the last year or so, I'm kind of assuming that they may create their own scans now for anything being re-released. If nothing else they can include both editions of the film for fan to choose from, increasing value.

Yeah. I like ordering Scream stuff from Amazon because while I get it 2 weeks later that gives me time to see caps and know how good the transfer is. They made a huge improvement to Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, so I let it ship from Amazon. Looks like they did the same to Return of the Living Dead, so I am eager to get it. With Mad Max though the transfer was slightly worse actually, so I was happy to skip it and happy I had the heads up.

Will be interesting seeing what they do with Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Child's Play, since both have good masters already.

The costs to create new HD masters has come down so a lot of studios can create their own, which is good obviously, maybe some never to disc format horror titles will eventually happen ( from any label not just SF)

He meant never, as in, deeper studio catalog titles that haven't been released yet might now that it is becoming cheap to scan. If something was new to disc, why would they rescan it? :P

when I thinking it, I took it to mean newer, like movies new to discs, like movies never on discs, the wording was just confusing to me, like Without Warning was new to disc right? and other titles, never released past VHS, but your right never works best here, anyways watching some Jaws Movies as a warm up to Shark Week

I meant NEW 2K masters which are newer than many movies currently on blu ray.. Never on blu ray or currently on blu ray, a lot of titles are getting new 2K transfers - I guess you can take the wording anyway you wish

And yes they are cheaper to scan now, as has the costs for subtitles.

maybe you can explain, because I'm sometimes lost on this 'K' business, I know it stands for picture quality and makes it better, the confusing thing I'm seeing is people bashing Scream for not doing 4K, and some movies are being released 4K, which I assume is better but people say 2K is better (or great), so which is better 2K or 4K (or spitballing since I also went to wiki to see, and saw 8K, so is that better than the first 2?) and also 1 hour and 30 mins to Shark Week! watching Jaws 2, will stop watching 10-15 mins before shark week begins

On the topic of new scans, I was thinking the other night about their current trend of re-releasing classic titles that have previously been on blu-ray and giving them new transfers/special features (TCM 2, Army of Darkness, ROTLD, etc.). It got me to thinking what other MGM/Universal titles could mostly likely be candidates for this treatment. Anyone have any ideas? Two of the more notable ones I thought of were the original Last House on the Left and Misery.

These refer to the resolution. 2K is a 1080p scan, the 2K refers to the lines of image measured across it width, 1920 (width) x 1080 (height) lines. A 4K scan would be 3840×2160. Yes 4K would be better, it means they would capture more information but you really wouldn't see a difference on a standard bluray, it would have to be UHD bluray for it to matter, you would need a 4K TV, UHD player and they would have to produce another format other than the standard bluray. I don't see a reason to complain, 2K is perfect for 99% of the population. People *****ing about it not being a 4K scan are just complaining because they want it better and think they should have it since the technology exists. Unfortunately SF would have to license differently for that format too, just like standard DVD's are a different license. Hope this helps clear it up a little for you

it does thank you, but what about 8K, I'm guessing that would be better
