I had originally thought that the buttons were going to be titles they were going to announce at Comic Con but now I'm thinking it'll be previously announced titles. You look at their upcoming slate and there are some big ones in there. I think they're keeping all of the buttons a secret just to make it easier on themselves and to encourage people to come see them (not that people would need additional encouragement but whatever).

My button guesses:

The Thing
Carrie
Exorcist III
Fender Bender
Title TBA in the next week or so (Actually probably Child's Play)

With Child's Play announced (and no mention of the sequels), I'm now thinking we might see one more October title announced tomorrow (I thought they might push for 5). Dead Ringers is the only other one we know about, though something like Misery (or even a brand new title) would also be great.

With all of the rerelease announcements, one hopes that they are trying to fill up SDCC with 5-8 new to Blu titles.

As much as I'd love that to happen I just can't see it, unless they've struck a new deal with someone like Paramount. But you would hope they'd keep it to a minimum at least. I still suspect they have a few Universal catalogue titles up their sleeve (there are still quite a few 60s, 90s and 00s titles with potential, providing they can get them), and possibly a few more Morgan Creek titles (Pacific Heights, Freejack, Stay Tuned, Diabolique). There's also still a lot of MGM stuff they could put out too, but it's been a while since we've seen a 'lesser' MGM title released now (or at least it will be by the time November comes).

So just gonna take a stab in the dark here and say that of the 5 buttons unveiled for comic-con...

1 will utilize the Child's Play Chucky Art
1 Will utilize the Fender Bender Art
1 Will Utilize Exorcist III
1 Will be either the Scream Factory Logo or the Skull they use occasionally
1 Will be for the next title they announce later today or tomorrow.

2 MGM and 1 MC CE's so far announced for October. The potential next one will probably be from Universal. I'm looking at you American Werewolf in London.

All together now...

-Tales From the Hood!
-Tales from the Hood!
-Tales from the Hood!

Not only do we all want it, it'd make an excellent button. Plus think of the slipcover possibilities. It could use a raised embossed skull with metallic ink and introduce a whole new level of slipcover design.

That extra poster is cool, but I have no need for a $25 actin figure.... Good news that the poster is rolled. Maybe they'll start doing it for all of them eventually.

You might well be right, but I see American Werewolf as a title with real limited edition potential, and I'd be very surprised if Scream announced another while one promotion is still running (this is obviously why they waited until Carrie sold out before announcing Child's Play). As such, I'm going to predict it will be a title with slightly less pop culture significance (which doesn't rule out a great deal else I'll grant you - maybe Misery and Silence of the Lambs?). Dead Ringers would fit this bill (I use this example solely becase we know it's coming), and have the added bonus of meaning all the SDCC reveals will be surprises (unless something else leaks before then).

Yay another re-release of a film we all already own on Blu-ray. I love Child's Play but I'm still very happy with the box set. Guess I'll just sit back and patiently await something really exciting like Dead Ringers news

Not a big fan of the alt artwork or the doll however being that Neca made this for Scream Factory is a good sign that there might be some cool stuff in the future.

be great if they annoce Child's Play 2 + 3 at Comic Con. Now they have already announced Exorcist III and Child's Play which we knew were coming the other we know is Dead Ringers so maybe that's another for Comic Con.

I would like to see 2 and 3, but why wouldnt they announce them together with the original? Seems like a strange move.

It most probably is (Species). One of a few existing MGM titles they could still plunder:

Last House on the Left (perhaps unlikely for various reasons, but then it is Wes Craven)

Teen Wolf (possible)
Poltergeist 2 (highly likely)
Killer Klowns from Outer Space (shot down I think, but surely likely)
Poltergeist 3 (highly likely)

Misery (highly likely)
Silence of the Lambs (if they can get it, sure)
Species (highly likely)
Hannibal (perhaps)

They've announced boxsets for each of the past three Octobers, so I'm wondering if that trend will continue. Species would've been a good candidate, but it looks like they opted against that, since they already released all of the sequels.

I know the original is a Warner Brothers title, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Scream Factory worked out an arrangement with them, ala the theatrical cut for Nightbreed or House on Haunted Hill for Vincent Price 2, and announce a Poltergeist trilogy boxset.

It would be amazing if they got Poltergeist, as long as they were allowed to produce extras. That movie has to be top of my list for wanting to know what the heck was going on behind the scenes, and there have never been special features for any version of it that really made any attempt to tell us anything. I want the dirt, dang it!

It seems like a possible candidate for an independent documentary at some point. It just is too bad it's been swept under the rug so badly considering virtually everyone is aware of all the controversy and rumors.

New 2k scan is a big deal considering how good Scream's new scans have been lately. I'm pretty buzzed about it. Sometimes a new scan of a classic is much bigger news than another b-movie's first BD release.

Curious, why is this one unlikely? I've been holding out from buying the MGM one. Thanks.
