What if the horror in the line refers to the horror of the final product?

Meant to be more specific with the first question

The slip was in regards to more recent titles; i.e. Carrie, Black Christmas, The Thing. If people don't get one with new(er) releases then it's a safe bet I won't.

People in Arrow Video, Criterion threads don't hesitate to recommend blind buys. Didn't know it would be a problem in here.

You can just ignore the question(s) if they bother you so much. I'm more than happy to answer these kinds of questions. Which is why I don't feel bad asking them.

I have been preordering the SF titles directly from the site for the past 6 months or so, but my Fender Bender Blu that I ordered from Amazon last month had a slip.

As for Black Christmas, I absolutely recommend it as a blind purchase! It is one of the best slasher films I have ever seen, and I've seen tons. Genuinely creepy atmosphere, great performances from the female cast members, and a real slasher classic altogether. The Scream release has a fantastic cover (And reverse cover) as well as including multiple transfers. Without a doubt get this if you're on the fence!

I'm so down for a Young Guns 2 release! Just as great as the first one which needs a new restored release as well.

I'm completely satisfied with MGM's remastered Terminator though even though a lot of people aren't I guess.

Am satisfied with the transfer, but I really wantz the missing features and they could always add more!

I think you're missing my point.
You never know with slipcovers... I recently got a relatively new release--THE SHALLOWS 4k and it didn't have the slip. New releases or older releases are hit or miss. If someone answers you and says "yes, Amazon still ships with slips" then that's based on their experience.... it means nothing as to whether you will get one of not..

this is why that question drives me nuts... it's a pointless question because there is no guaranteed answer...

as for the blind buy question... yes, it also drives me crazy because, again, why would you care about what a stranger says regarding a recommendation? I'm sure some people would say yes it's a great film, and others would say it sucks.

How would that info help anyone choose a blind buy?

one more point on this... If I asked around here if PULP FICTION is worth a blind buy I bet I'd get an overwhelming YES across the board.... I hate the film!!

Well I think you are just being odd about this. When I ask if a film is worth a blind buy, I'm hoping that some one that likes or dislikes the film can articulate why they feel that way. It helps inform buying decisions. Also the beauty of this site is some one can look at your collection and say oh well you like Film A, D, F, G and this one is similar to those for these reasons, you may enjoy it. I love hearing other peoples opinions on film, that's why I and most of the people on here frequent a forum about bluray releases.

Shout/Scream haven't announced a Morgan Creek title for some time, so it will be interesting to see if the deal went beyond 4 titles (Bad Moon, The Crush, Dead Ringers, Exorcist III - unless I'm forgetting something). If it is exhausted, maybe they'll go back for a second deal?

If Shout can't get Robocop, I very much doubt they can get Terminator, it's surely too big.

The film is a classic of the genre, however, there is an audio issue that's been identified in relation to the Scream Factory blu ray release of this film. Check out the "Black Christmas" thread on this forum for more details.

ok, fair enough... I don't completely agree but at least there's some logic.... What's your take on the endless slipcover questions?

Say what you will about the quality of the films themselves, but the newly commissioned artwork for those RoboCop 2 & 3 covers is mighty fine. Which is something I rarely say about Shout/Scream's new artwork.

My brother got a perfect slipcover on the Terror Train CE he ordered from Amazon last week. I took a chance this week, so I'll find out soon. I would have thought was one that had no chance of having a slipcover at this point. Just goes to show you never know with Amazon. This is why the eBay sellers who mention their SF discs specifically have slipcovers have an easier time selling their discs (and for more money).

I try to buy instore as much as possible with SF. Went into Suncoast the other day and scored three CE's with slips for $17.99 each.

Robocop 2 and Robocop 3 fit quite well with the Scream Factory line up as far as I'm concerned. The character of Robocop much like Swamp Thing has tragic and Horrific origins and the tone of the movies actually fits really well with the Scream Factory lineup. These two titles fit the theme far more closely than Mad Max, Escape from New York, and some of the other past additions. It's a shame they couldn't get the original Robocop.. I'm not sure what more they could do with it, but it would have been a very well received title in my opinion.

Slipcover questions are...tiresome. SF usually says first 3 months are guaranteed production with slips, beyond that it really depends on how many copies they have sold and who has certain stock. There is really no way to tell like you said, you might get one and you might not. I'm not a nut about them myself, they are nice to have but I don't get bent out of shape if I don't get one on something that is way beyond it's production date. That's just me though.

I have the original MGM/Fox trilogy set and the unreleased Sony Theatrical release of the original film as a companion. I need to pick up the 4k Remaster of the original when I find it for cheap (likely if Dollar General still has a few copies next time I stop in) but I don't think I'll be picking up either of these two titles. I enjoy part 2, and like owning part 3, but don't feel the need (right now at least) to upgrade either. Then again if I see someone selling these for $10 at some point down the line who knows. Given the sheer number of Code Red (and a few Arrow) titles I am still needing to pick up, these re-releases just fall farther and farther down my list of priorities.

Completely agree here. They fit just fine in the line. I'll be curious to revisit part 3. I remember not liking it when it came out but haven't seen it since it's VHS release and listening to Fred Dekker talk about in interviews over the last year or so has piqued my interest again. Never really cared for 2 but it had some interesting parts. I'll definitely pick both of these up at some point down the line. Firestarter on the other hand will not be going in my collection. Not a fan.
