Yes I think we'll have an updated Chucky box set from Universal when the new film is release.

Given that Scream must have recently struck a new deal with Universal (Tales from the Hood, Firestarter, Virus, etc) I'd be amazed if they didn't have Child's Play 2 and 3. As speculated they'd probably be wise to save them until later in the year, to coincide with the new film. If Universal can't agree another deal with MGM for the first film (I've no idea if they can or not), then I can't see them putting out another set containing just the sequels, despite them doing this for DVD.

I hope any new Chucky box set comes from Scream Factory and not Universal. Universal won't do anything creative with this and is just going to repackage the last set with maybe a couple more EPKs and different artwork and call it a day. I have no interest in this series but at least if SF does it it'll be done correctly once and for all and people will stop begging the studio to pick these up. I think with the new film coming up chances are good SF will indeed pick them up and give fans their collectors editions. We need to get past this.

I'm sure Scream might do CP 2 andd 3 to cash in on the new Chucky film with new 2K remastering and even TV version of CP 2.

And who thinks Scream might join with Well Go for the Phantasm boxset?

it's not out of the question, but that would make their Phantasm II release obsolete. this feels different from the Halloween set, as that's a money-making franchise. Phantasm is beloved on a much smaller scale, at least to my understanding (and i'm one of those people who wants a Phantasm set badly).

If it happens I would guess Scream just license their Phantasm 2 disc to be in the set. It wouldn't be a new disc or anything. I think it's much more likely Well Go's set is all the movies except the second one.

Intriguing if general comment by Scream in response to someone requesting more obscure titles in the vein of Demented:

Indeed, along with After Midnight and J.D's Revenge. Given that these had pressed DVD releases from MGM, I'd say they're probably overdue at this point. Bat People also, though that most likely is coming given that it's with Scream (they re-issued it on DVD), and among the remaining poll titles, which they've already hinted may be coming.

Of course, there's also a few MGM MOD DVDs I could see Scream upgrading (well, some more than others - The Ambulance would be very welcome):

Daughters of Satan (1972)
Windows (1980)
The Falling (AKA Alien Predator) (1985)
The Caller (1987)
Spellcaster (1988)
The Immortalizer (1989)
The Ambulance (1990)
Buried Alive (1990)
Mom (1991)
Panga (1991)
Dance Macabre (1992)

Most of those sound cool. I have Mom DVD and the picture is widescreen and pretty decent.
The Ambulance I believe was made for TV and was pretty good.
Panga has been on my watched list and just added Buried Alive, Spellcaster and The Falling.

The Ambulance and Wicked Stepmother would make a nice Larry Cohen double feature.

Would really like to see Scream Factory release a collectors edition of the 1978 Halloween film, that way we can match it with Halloween II

Actually I'm thinking beyond just MGM. Plenty of unreleased indy stuff in the wind. Also, not all Lakeshore titles will be coming through Arrow so maybe SF can grab a couple of movies from them. If SF has struck a new deal with MGM it would be great if they grabbed The Day After, Florida Straits (for the Shout Factory Selects line) and maybe even Valley Girl since nobody else seems interested. I'd love Collector's Editions of the first 2 Missing In Action films. Plenty of potential stuff to get excited over.
