The mono track was defective on the initial release with an unwatchable sibilance issue along with hissing and crackling sounds. Shout! went back and fixed the original mono track from the actual master. Now it's definitely the definitive Black Chritmas release!

What what say what?

I used to love watching Starcade back when it aired during the 1980s, but it's one of those shows that I cannot quite fathom revisiting in this day and age.

When I watched this show as a kid, I always wanted to punch out the host, because I never understood how the contestants could focus on the game with the host speaking loudly right next to them.

Yeah I cant imagine it will stand up today but I still want to see it just for nostalgia sake. That show was one of those oddball things from my childhood that really stuck out. Id still be willing to buy it just to revisit it.

Dead of Winter was in my mailbox when I got home today.

I suppose that this Blu-ray arrived a few days later, since the wind chill here in Georgia on Sunday was 3℉. Today, the temperatures are in the 50s. Sunday was the actual "dead of winter", methinks. I'm not complaining, though. It'll be a while before I get around to watching this disc anyway.

VALLEY GIRL is in limbo because of music rights.

Do we have a list of which Scream Factory titles have slip covers and which don't?

All collectors editions have slip covers. Some IFC films have slips (I'd even go so far as to say most in fact) but not all of them. If you plan to pick up an IFC title it's easiest to just check the database.

This was surprising.

Edit: Nevermind. No WB / New Line deal here.

Warner Bros / New Line Cinema deal?
No, they announced they don't have a deal with Warner. Their rights to this film expired.

**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCE**

Our Friday the 13th celebration continues with one more reveal of a title coming this Summer: James Gunn's cult classic horror comedy SLITHER is planned for a Collector's Edition release!
No other details to report at this time. Who's a fan of this gory fun throwback to B-films?

**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCE**

Happy Friday the 13th! We couldn't let one of our favorite days go by without announcing a couple of titles so here's the first of two today: The 1992 virtual-reality film THE LAWNMOWER MAN will be heading to Blu-ray as a "Collector's Edition" sometime this Summer. No other details to report at this time.

I hope "Lawnmower Man" includes the unrated (director's?) cut.

Very excited for the New line possibilities. Slither and Lawnmower man are excellent announcements. Can you imagine the excitement level if Scream Factory has managed to snag the Nightmare series?!

Alligator II is the only other New Line title I know of whose rights may have lapsed.
