The Burning cover art looks awesome, but it is abit cluttered with the 3 faces. What they should of done is just had the image of cropsy rising from the lake and the canoes with trees all around.
Better yet, I wished they had of gone with something like this. ![]() |

![]() It's official for me, Scream's goofy-cover idea is starting to wear dangerously thin, and if they want "retro", there's no retro like original theatrical. (I mean, it's not like most of these titles have already had five or six other DVD editions with copyrighted covers and can't use original theatrical; we're not MGM, here.) That was back in the days when little B-distribution companies HAD to cram the kids in on Friday night, and for 70's-80's slasher, the poster was everything. More art and creativity went into the poster than what it was selling; that was how it was in the days of Roger Corman, and it'd been that way ever since. [Show spoiler] I disagree...I think the new art is much better then that in the above poster. While that poster is pretty sweet and all the new Scream Factory art just (no-pun intended) SCREAMS Scream Factory...much more thier style...I really like it. Also in that above poster Cropsy doesn't look so much like Cropsy but more like the main Zombie from Fulci's Zombi. |

And what is up with the praise? Cmac... if every single custom art is going to be photoshopped heads, then just save the money and put the original poster art and leave it at that. This is just a waste of time and money, especially when you've known about this (which is FREE): ![]() You still have a great opportunity with Deviantart.com. You can hold contests for artists to create your cover art, so whoever wins gets their name on the back cover (down in the credits as Cover Artist). You get a cover for free, the artist gets publicity and the fans get something with some real passion put into it. Last edited by Monroville; 01-12-2013 at 09:03 PM. |

I like the red color scheme of the alternate BURNING art but I gotta say nothing beats the original poster artwork. I'll always prefer the original over a redesign. Thanks, Cliff, for including both (new and original) and for not going the photoshop route. I have actually passed on buying some movies because I couldn't stand the horrible cover.

Yeah Monroville, really! You are entitled to your opinion but some of us like Scream Factory's new art(inlcuding The Burning). Like Madmojo said if you don't like the new art you can simply ditch the slipcover and use the reversible original art....we all have both options which is great so Scream doesn't have to switch anything up.

I like the new cover art, and for those who don't, Shout has been great about including the original artwork on the flip side. Most companies don't even do that. I'm less concerned with the artwork and more interested in what'll be included on the disc! It'd be nice to hear from Leah Ayres, Brain Matthews, and Brian Backer. A "Horror's Hallowed Grounds" segment could be fun, but I doubt there's much left to see. Summer camps are a thing of the past, and a lot of the ones from these camp-slashers have been torn down or left to rot (Friday The 13th being an exception). |

Gheeesh! Do you offer your flagrant opinion on everything you do in life: - Why are all these people ahead of my, in line...you should open up another line just for me. - Why is this channel showing this particular programming, they should show what I like - Why is there traffic, they should build me my own lane Me, me, me, me, me.... |

It's possible that maybe my view of it is skewed based on movies though. I can't remember any recent summer camp movies (there were a couple in the early 2000s), but there were tons back in the '80s / early '90s. Also, it seems like a lot of the camps from these movies have been torn down. The locations from Friday The 13th Part 2, Madman, Sleepaway Camp have all been torn down. The camp from Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3 was abandoned and partially demolished, but some of it is still there (and overgrown with foliage). Guess it just seems like they're not much in demand any more. |

"The Fog" might not come quite as soon as the next month but within the next few months I'm sure.
