I miss the Friday announcements - it was something more to look forward to besides the day itself - but I can live with the knowledge that Shout will likely be acquiring more films and announcing them when they're ready. We've already got a kick-ass slate for the new year - I'm not convinced that there's nothing else coming.

Yeah there is more coming and I think they will do some kind of Friday announcement again at some point or something along the lines of both Scream and Shout lines...they always have great ideas for announcements, wait and see I guess

I know they're not technically horror releases, but I would love to see either Scream OR Shout take on proper blu rays of Beastmaster and Sword and The Sorcerer. Next to the criminally underrated Krull, these are two sword and sorcery 80's classics that would be amazing on blu

House and House II are part of the Lakeshore library. Hills Have Eyes isn't though, and I don't know how Image aquired that from Anchor Bay (less the rights expired).

that movie scared the crap out of me as a kid. i have watched all sorts of horror films ever since i was a young lad but none of them had the impact that movies like fire in the sky, communion or some episodes of the x files had on me. i used to be afraid of going to sleep because that was when the aliens would come and take you. i would rather be slaughtered by jason 10 times out of 10 then be taken aboard a ufo and into outerspace. *shudder*

anyone remember the special on fox that was the supposedly found footage of aliens taking a family off a farm? first the lights go out and they try to go to their car but the motor is melted and then when it ends the last kid runs to his room and the door slams and standing behind the door was a grey alien? lol i wish i could buy that on dvd or blu ray.


anyway i would love some hellraiser from scream and a house double bill sounds great to me.

I remember those fox specials! That one and alien autopsy scared the living crap outta me when I was younger. I'm pretty much the same way man, I've seen all manner of grisly horror flicks and none of them has ever fazed me, but Communion had me waking up screaming in my sleep. At 28 years old.
I love what Scream Factory is doing with this line but NOTHING would ever get me to watch Fire in the Sky again, let alone buy it!

Frightener, you mentioned in the Shout! Page that they were coming out with Message from Space, which is awesome.

Is it any different than the other DVD that was released a few years back?

I'm unsure at the moment about that but I'm sure details will be coming shortly. I received a DVD screener of "Deadly Blessing" which I'm really excited to cut into. I still have my pre-order locked in for the Blu-ray but I'm more than happy to check this baby out 2 weeks ahead of time

That was my mindset too but I ended up caving and putting the order for "The Vampire Lovers" in because I didn't want to miss out on that low pre-order price.

I am waiting for the Lifeforce Amazon pre-order to go up as well...I have been checking everyday for the last few days now. I have never seen The Vampire Lovers so I want to check it out first but I almost want to order it just because of the artwork....I saw that artwork online years ago and have always loved it. The Taglines are just fantastic too!

It was commented on Facebook that "Vampire Lovers" & "The Incredible Melting Man" will be blu-ray only releases that are non-collector's editions. They were asked about "The Incredible Melting Man" potentially having the Myster Science Theater 3000 version as an extra, and their response was obvious that they were trying. They said something along the lines of "sorry, we can't speak about our plans to put that version on the release at this time". It was pretty obvious that they were, at the very least, considering to add it.

And the deal with Universal for a second set of titles was confirmed by Cliff in an audio inteview with 40 oz. of horror.
