Is there an insider here that can tell us which releases in stock at Shout still have their slipcovers. I have a lot of catching up to do, but want to buy the ones that have slips first. I prefer to buy direct from Shout rather than from Amazon or other suppliers.

Species is OK but it's not something I'm craving. They should try to go for bigger Universal titles and stuff that really need a good Blu-ray upgrade like Iceman (1984), Stick (1985) or even the Extended cut of Waterworld(!). Now THAT'LL be something worth getting excited about.
I'm still holding onto hope that Scream Factory can snag the Corman library or work out a deal with Paramount resulting in some outstanding Comic Con announcements. Despite already owning the Friday the 13th set I feel like I'd still lose my mind if Scream Factory announced their own collection, even if it was just the first 8 films.

Comic-con would go nuts if Scream Factory ended up announcing..

-Tales from the Darkside: The movie
-April Fool's Day
-My Bloody Valentine '81
-Fire in the Sky
-Pet Sematary Two
-The Deadzone

and a Friday the 13th Box Set of their own.

and Shout Select Announced:

-Adam's Family Values
-Coneheads
-Beavis and Butthead Do America!
-Wayne's World Collection
-Big Top Pee Wee
-Pretty in Pink

The Shout insider we had here, cmac (Cliff Macmillan) was pretty much chased away due to the over the top negativity of some here.

You might be able to get some answers by emailing Shout directly at info@shoutfactory.com

I have a good feeling that a Paramount deal is in place.

There are always people who pop in and say "man no good titles lately." Taste is subjective so there will always be someone who thinks nothing good is on the way for a while. For me Slither, Lawnmower Man and Species are great titles. For others they're not. None of it means Scream is struggling or anything. People were acting like Scream were in trouble when they announced The Thing for god's sake.

I am super excited for Lawnmower Man and Species. Serial Mom I've been wanting to get as well. Slither is a nice addition, I almost jumped on import right before they announced it.

There are a lot of gems out there yet, and Scream is getting to the point where there isn't much left imo. Next year or soon I think they might have a new deal/partner.

That would be ideal. I'm drooling over this line up.

Has a deal between Paramount and Shout Factory been hinted at? I suppose Kino almost grabbing The Keep is a good sign but maybe Paramount is one of those studios that doesn't deal with everyone, kinda like how Warner only deals with Criterion. A Paramount deal at SF could potentially yield a ton of awesome titles, needless to say. April Fool's Day and Let's Scare Jessica To Death are at the top of my wishlist.

Important to bear in mind that Kino and Olive's deals with Paramount largely only allow for them releasing titles Paramount did not issue on DVD and those by Legend Films. That said, we know Paramount were not averse to licencing titles (Walking Tall, The Duellists, etc) to Shout before the Warner deal, so maybe they have a head start on any potential deal now that the Warner agreement as expired. I imagine they'll be throwing everything at it since the long-term future of the Scream line (at least in its current form) will surely hinge on a major deal like this.

I sure hope Scream Factory gets a chance at Paramount. I'd love to see them release The Dead Zone, Fire in the Sky, and What lies Beneath. As far as upcoming releases, I am definitely going to get The Angry Red Planet and Island of Terror, but I'm also intrigued by I Bury the Living as I liked what I saw over on Trailers From Hell.

I want Scream Factory to keep releasing old stuff that nobody watches anymore. I'm liking all of these announcements of films like The Bat People, The Vampire, I Bury the Living, The Angry Red Planet, The Man from Planet X, etc.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Scream are that enthused about sales of their older and more obscure offerings this year. From Facebook a couple of days back:

Are they referring to titles like Demented and The House That Screamed or older stuff like The Bat People and Angry Red Planet? I'd like to know which category I need to be mournful about

i hope that the sales of reissues of things like Child's Play would buoy some more obscure titles (those in which i am more interested) but alas. i'll definitely be picking up more in the future especially the likes of Demented).

I'll start snagging some obscure ones as soon as I get the holes in my classics filled. Almost there.

I read that as all of their more obscure offerings have been a bust so far.

Not surprising to me. I own over 100 SF titles and I haven't bought any of these. A majority of their 2017 releases just don't appeal to me so far.
