These will be $16.14 each at Deep Discount during their next 15% sale. (With an additional 4% back from topcashback.)

I was shopping at Meijer this weekend, and found SF's I Bury the Living and The Screaming Skull BDs for the low, low price of $22.99 each.

I've bought SF discs at Meijer before: Halloween II and III, Dolls, and The Babadook come to mind. They were all collectors editions, with nice slips and plenty of extras. And they were all $19.99 apiece, which I consider a fair price.

But two old public domain (I think) cheapies, that are barebones, for more than collectors editions? Ridiculous. I like buying Shout titles at Meijer. I think it's cool that a regional chain with a diminished media section carries them. If these were either $9.99 apiece, or a double feature, I wouldn't have hesitated to put them in the cart. But these prices just make it super easy to say, "The DVDs are good enough." So, screw you, Shout Factory.

(And yes, I checked Amazon, their ~$19.99 price point isn't much better.)
Shout's SRPs have unfortunately gone up across the board, resulting in higher prices everywhere.

Niche market, niche prices. We all gotta adjust because it's they're going to get higher if anything, not lower.

Money cannot buy happiness, but it can buy Scream Factory horror Blu-rays, which is pretty much the same thing.

I usually pre-order in bulk when Scream Factory throws one of their big sales, but that's not a huge discount at the end of the day, because the Shout Factory site has the MSRP prices in the first place.

Still, it's nice to keep things simple and have all of the pre-orders in the bag instead of checking prices for individual titles day in day out.

Everyone else has decent sales every once in a while. Not sure why SF can't do the same.

Me neither. What buys happiness that isn't made possible by money? I guess if your wife married you and gave birth when you lived in a cardboard box!

Those movies are definitely not public domain. I agree that those prices are too rich for my blood considering what they are, but then again they're better than a lot of their other movies which have historically been priced at that level. I don't consider black and white to make something worth less money!

I think the issue with Shout / Scream prices is like a lot of their most recent releases... most people aren't that excited about them. Scream has even said sales #s have been low for them. Yes there is plenty out there they could try to license but let's face it they are starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel for titles. Now I mean no offense to that because I like some of those crappy movies and I can't recommend DEMENTED enough. (See my post on previous thread page)

But yeah their prices need some re thinking. I'm all for paying a premium on high quality special editions but standard blu ray editions should be priced accordingly.

Good sales= Good sale numbers. It's simple.

I disagree. Money can buy your way out of most kinds of misfortune and its associated sadness, but it can't truly buy happiness in its own right.

The point of the expression is that happiness can't be bought, not that you can buy it but just not with money.

The scheduling of Vicious Lips for August 29 brings us right up to date with Scream's announcements:

https://www.shoutfactory.com/film/fi...r/vicious-lips

We're now into surprises territory again, which is (almost) always fun. Hopefully we'll get a couple this week; I'd expect Scream to put out at least 5 retro titles in August, so it doesn't seem too big a stretch. I suspect some of the MGM titles picked up by labels (not Kino) - The Ambulance, After Midnight, Daughters of Satan, The Falling - will be with Scream. There's also the prospect of further upgrades of MGM titles already held by Scream (some more 60s sci-fi, America 3000, Cyclone, Time Guardian). But September to November sould be interesting, given that they are big months and were CE-heavy last year. I'm expecting more MGM and Universal double-dips (Misery, Child's Play 2 & 3), but there should be a couple of surprises in there.

Scream Factory released Deadtime Stories.

The Rejuvenator (Rejuvenatrix) is "From the producer of Deadtime Stories"

Could Scream Factory possibly release The Rejuvenator?

IIRC, it was mentioned in the Code Red thread that whoever held the rights wanted too much money. If it's the same rightsholder as Deadtime Stories, though, hopefully it's possible. It's a great little flick.

I'm still waiting for a repeat of last May's Amazon Scream sale that had 12.99 titles, that I missed. I would pick up most/all of my yet to buy Screams at that price. Last year it happened the 2nd week of May.

That could have been a one shot deal. I guess we'll find out soon.

It looks like Amazon.ca has many Scream titles on sale for the month of May, many as low as $17.99 CAD, which is as cheap as it gets in Canada, now that HMV is no more (I'll miss those 2 for $30 deals for many SF titles).

I suspect they will announce some new stuff tomorrow as part of their 5 year anniversary, I'm excited to see what they will announce. I would really like to see Curse 3/Panga, but there are a lot of good titles out there yet.
