I imagine they're throwing much of their efforts at a Paramount deal, since there would be a lot of mileage in that.

Only title I'm familiar with is After Midnight. I'm not big on anthologies but I enjoyed this as a decent overall horror flick so I'll definitely upgrade. Plus, it'll be nice to get rid of the DVD with that terrible cover.

Realistically what's out there for Shout!, doing Collector's Editions of Universal titles, (the common request Child's Play sequels, Hitcher remake) may grab some titles for the Select series (CE's of Twins, Kindergarten Cop, Junior, The Frighteners's CE ,Christopher Lambert's The Hunted, Betsy Russell's Private School, Hard Target, Sudden Death & Lionheart).

Fox titles (CE's of Big Trouble In Little China, The Fly , The Fly II, maybe rerelease these The Entity (CE) Perfect Creature, Bad Dreams(stand alone release) and The Tripper)...some Fox titles for the select series: Mischief, and Box sets of Hot Shots! and Revenge Of The Nerds.

Where is the rest of Morgan Creek's titles; Young Guns II, Major League II, Chasers, Freejack, Skindeep , True Romance (CE w Both cuts)and White Sands?

Paramount; The Keep, Friedkins The Hunted and Rules Of Engagement, The Ghost And The Darkness (1996), The Generals Daughter (1999), The Saint (1997), an SE of Jade (w Both cuts), Kiss The Girls (CE), Along Came A Spider (CE), Death Wish (CE), Witness (CE), Domestic Disturbance, Switchback, Dragonslayer, Explorers, Suspect Zero, Twisted and Looking for Mr Goodbar.

I still feel shout should give the select treatment to some of the Millennium/Alchemy/Westcher titles: Stallone's: Eye See You, Avenging Angelo, Shade, ...Van Damme's In Hell, Derailed,...Snipes' Unstoppable and Theron's Monster(CE)

CE's of MGM titles like Death Warrant, Cyborg, Double Impact, Code Of Honor, The Expert (Jeff Speakman), The Heavenly Kid, Death Wish V.

and Fright Night Part II (1988) (If Lionsgate weren't able to secure it back to their vault)

But at the end this is all wishful thinking!

Jeff mentioned that next month Scream Factory will have their "most aggressive sale ever", and it will be done differently than in the past and there will be a limited amount of time to get in on the sales.

So maybe "lightening deal" types of sales that last a matter of hours?

interested in 'quiet place in the country', and had been looking at it recently - caught my eye because it seems to share much of the typical production stylings of films i've seen. like others i've looked at trailers for, it exists in a genre i've not really explored.

Those sounds like some interesting titles. I haven't heard much about them, so there could be some really cool, pleasant surprises in there.

Just checking in to see all the folks that were up in arms over SF not releasing new stuff, and how they took this news?

I wonder if The Resurrected will get the same cover art as this seemingly nice German release?

Some other points of interest in the podcast:

- Jeff said 'we have a lot of logs in the fire' again.
- They teased a recent correspondence involving a potentially big title for next year (if they can get it).
- They seem pretty defiant in response to suggestions that they're out of titles.
- Confirmed more announcements at SDCC - 'some stronger titles, and surprises'.
- 'Jury's still out' on further steelbooks. Will inevitably depend on sales.
- On the Naschy set: 'Hopefully it will do really well and there will be more'
- 'No path' to Trick Or Treat, Fright Night 2, The Keep, Maximum Overdrive.
- Savage Harvest 'never going to come out' because of that Beatles scene.
- 'Lots of titles at Paramount we would love to get'
- 'We really did try' for Dawn of the Dead, but it remains a 'never say never'.
- Jeff again mentions Alligator as a dream title, 'we don't have a handle at that one'. Would also love to get Hell Night out.
Hmm... what could it be? Unless it is a Paramount title or maybe some help from WB (ala Nightbreed), I can't think of a major title that could use "correspondence".

Never even heard of most of those titles, but then horror ain't really my bag outside of the big 80's stuff. Glad some are getting their niche wishes granted! Really hoping for a Paramount deal, for Shout Select most of all. So much stuff there.

People have been requesting THE RESURRECTED for a long while and it was supposedly held up in some legal limbo, and now that Scream worked it out and announces it, half the people on here just go "meh".

I'm in for all four, definitely. Upgrading my DVD copies on 3 of them, and THE SPELL never had a DVD release. Saw it on TV when it originally aired and it's a fun Carrie rip-off. Hope they get some more tv-movies, like Midnight Offerings, etc.

This is easily their coolest month lineup in a while for me.

Of the 4 new announcements I'm all in for The Resurrected as I love me some H.P. Lovecraft adaptations. I'm unfamiliar with all 4 films though, so The Resurrected is the only one I feel like is an easy safe blind buy.

Was the original holdup with The Resurrected? Wasn't it music rights or something? Or was it because of who held the rights to it? I can't remember...

Either way, I'm in for that one. And probably After Midnight. I'm a sucker for an anthology horror film.

The announcement of After Midnight further reduces the number of relevant MGM titles (still with MGM) given a proper US DVD release yet to be upgraded to Blu. To my knowledge, they consist of:

The Beast with a Million Eyes (1955)
Voodoo Island (1957)
Attack of the Puppet People (1958) (licenced, not with Kino)
Konga (1961)
J.D.'s Revenge (1976)
The Attic (1980)
Clownhouse (1989) (never happening)
Night Visitor (1989)

There are more MGM MOD releases however:

Pharoah's Curse (1957)
Doctor Blood's Coffin (1961) (licenced, not with Kino)
Daughters of Satan (1972) (licenced, not with Kino)
Superbeast (1972)
The Falling (AKA Alien Predator) (1985) (licenced, not with Kino)
The Caller (1987)
Predator: The Quietus (1988)
Spellcaster (1988)
The Immortalizer (1989)
The Ambulance (1990) (licenced, not with Kino)
Buried Alive (1990)
Mom (1991)
Panga (1991)
Dance Macabre (1992)

J.D's Revenge and The Attic seem long overdue at this point; I know the former needs a new HD master, perhaps that was holding up the latter also. I suspect most of the licenced titles are with Scream, especially the 70s and 80s ones.

You might be right, given that Cliff mentioned someone remarking disparagingly 'Are you just going to announce a bunch of double-dips?' (or something to that effect) prior to him going on the podcast, so maybe they thought it best to announce only 'new' stuff here. I'd be surprised if a month like September went without CE. Aside from the barren February, when was the last time a month didn't include a CE? I guess we'll find out next week. Fingers crossed for Misery.

I would pick-up most of these if they happen. Still hoping Panga/Curse III comes out soon to complete my Curse collection.

Great news The Resurrected is coming. I would love for them get Dawn of the Dead and an "in" with Paramount.

The Falling, The Ambulance, and I believe The Caller were all hinted to have been picked up by other labels by MisterLime.
