Yeah, future-proofing is probably not the right term, what I mean is that at some point, when digital storage is cheap enough and streaming can handle larger files, there will be no significant advantage to watching media from a disc vs. a digital copy of the same file, and I expect that a lot of collectors will keep their collection stored in a single centralized digital location (for either issues of space or just basic convenience). The annoying thing there is just be ripping all of your movies; a digital copy can save that step or at least make it easier, and the rip has probably already been QCed.

Silent Night, Deadly Night. Too bad about the video transfer though...

I want this movie badly, but I've been holding out for a better release. I should probably stop holding out and pull the trigger.

I just know that, the split second that I purchase Silent Night, Deadly Night, a better Blu-ray edition will be announced. The universe is always following me around and playing practical jokes on me that way.

...as though I actually need another excuse to watch Tourist Trap. Great, great movie. The German digibook Blu-ray is one of my proudest acquisitions.

I have the German edition also as it's the only way to have the movie uncut on blu since Fullmoon botched it

Thanks to your recommendations, I've purchased all of the above except for Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama and Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers (I already owned the Nightmare collection, but was unaware of Quigley when I purchased it).

Of course, both films are in my Amazon cart right now. It's only a matter of time.

Owl, you're responsible for dragging me deep into your world of cinematic depravity. In the past eight months, I've been shelling out for 70's sleaze, hammer horror, giallos, noirs, 80's slashers, 50's science fiction, animals going batsh*t crazy flicks, and every limited edition blu-ray I can get my dirty little hands on.

You've cost me a small fortune, and will continue to cost me.

Thanks.

Don't think it's been mentioned yet, but SF just announced via Instagram that they're releasing Teen Wolf the animated series.

Got mine for cheap, but I'm holding out for a better release too. Perhaps, even a collection of all the films could happen. Considering some of these other Anchor Bay upgrade announcements, there's hope!

Slimeball is really cool, it might even be David DeCoteau's best work. it's really a good piece of trash, and looks great. check out some stills if you aren't yet sure.

also buying it from Charles Band on eBay is the best way to do it, i've ordered from him a few times and he threw in a free DVD.

Yeah sure. I want to rip my DVDs sometime soon, since there's not too many of them and DVD is more fragile. Someday when hard drives are much cheaper I will rip my blu rays, but it would be an insane proposition at the moment. I don't think streaming really takes the place of that because of DRM and whatnot, but I do agree the quality difference won't be big much longer.

Yes, or Kino, they also have access to the Lakeshore Catalog.
